I don't think I ever used a horse except for the first hour or so of the game.

Woaah Roach...

Yeah I basically never use Roach and just run everywhere.

I call roach when distance is 300+. It is about twice as fast and most of the time there is road to the place.

Yeah I find myself running larger distances as well, just to avoid dealing with the damn horse.

The horse is def. faster than running if the terrain cooperates though.

Roach automatically following roads can be pretty useful too.

I use him quite a lot, but I'm a sad bastard who will happily spend ages trotting around the map not really doing anything, other than admiring the scenery and the fact I made my outfit match Roach's...

Well Skellige broke me of being a completionist. Did 10 of the points of interest in the middle of the ocean and looked at the 100 remaining and said **** that.

Level 25, 98 hours in and just started the Ugly Baby quest.

Jesus. I think I finished the game in about 80 hours at level 34, seeking out & finishing all side quests I could.

Bought the DLC and started in on those a couple days ago. Dead Man's Party quest is worth the price alone.

Yeah I just got to Kaer Morhen and am also about 100 hours in, I've done basically every quest, sidequest, and point of interest (on land) in all areas, completed the Gwent quest, pretty much done everything possible to do so far, but the water stuff in Skellige, ugh. The boat is so freaking slow and then the stupid trash mob battles are painfully slow on top of that.

Yeah sounds like we are at basically the same point. I've done every quest, sidequest, and non-skellige-****ing-ocean POI, at least the ones under level 27. I haven't done the Gwent quest yet but I have collected every Gwent card besides the rewards for that quest.

For anyone who has completed the game + DLC should I do Hearts of Stone before or after completing the main game. I know Blood + Wine goes after the main quest but was wondering if it mattered where Hearts of Stone went.

I think I remember reading that it didn't hugely matter either way, aside from a small amount of inconsequential dialogue being different, and possibly one decision being pre made for you if you've completed it.

Finished the main story at level 35 and 114 hours played. Did all sidequests, witcher contracts, Points of interest (except ocean skellige), found all Gwent cards, and crafted the Mastercraft versions of all Witcher gear and swords.

Time for the DLC.

Is it weird that after starting Blood and Wine I immediately ditched the main quest and went straight for the gwent?

I'd rank the factions...

Northern Realms > Nilfgaard >>>> Skellige > Monsters >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Scoia'tael

Except for maybe 2 Gwent battles where I tried out Nilfgaard I used the Northern Realms deck the entire game.

Yeah there is 0 reason to use anything else than Northern Realm at any point during basic game, perhaps DLCs fix this. Northern Realms pretty much have everything:

Best passive ability
Most spies
Most Heroes
Good leader ability (Siegemaster)

if PVP was a thing, Nilfgaard might be best since they have more healers so they can chain more spies (+ one of the leader abilities is really good, the one where you get to steal card from opponent's discard pile).

Can't wait for the Gwent game coming this fall.

Have physical versions of the Northern Realms and Nilfgaard decks from the Blood + Wine Limited Edition (lol bought the ps4 version just for the cards). Have the physical version of the Monsters and Scoia'tael decks on the way.

127 hours and finished Heart of Stone, some pretty fantastic quests overall.

Did you do it before or after the main game?
