Starcraft 2 (GAME IS NOW FREE!) - Page 12 - Video Games

I've been having these weird dreams of late, I used to always dream about things that are on my mind. And now I keep having these mixed starcraft poker dreams, like for example i see two armies - colossi, stalker zealots vs MMM, and I think to myself, his CSZ army is bigger than mine, but it's +EV in vacuum to go all-in and fight him cause the units lost will be in my favor. Or yesterday I had a dream where my friend, who wants to learn poker keeps asking me what to do with pocket banshees pre-flop, and I got to the conclusion that pocket banshees=pocket queens, then was thinking a Viking is like AJo.

Some seriously fkd up stuff, am I the only one?

I tried the "Gretorp" strat today for the first time and I am LOLBAD at it. To make matters worse, the map was Kulas Ravine and he rushed blink stalkers and just kept jumping back and forth between the two entrances =/

I'll stick to my 1a2a3a MM early game units.

I gotta play more 1v1s. Played 17, won 12 (Platinum), just beat my first diamond, but am slightly scared of playing 1v1 still.

I also tend to average about 90APM over a match. Is that too rubbish to get anywhere in diamond?

What's the "Gretorp" strat?

Is it just me or are banshees rubbish in TvT?

I never seem to have any success with cloaked banshees in any matchup but I like making one w/out cloak for early harass and to make my opponent dump money on detectors and anti-air in his mineral line.

But in TvT most opponents go for mass vikings and that plus scan just crushes the banshees extra hard, amirite?

Yes, but if you get 2 banshees with cloak you can often kill 2/3 scvs (each takes two shots total to die) then run away before the vikings reach you. You also force him to be extra careful with his tank placement etc. They're a good threat if you're prepared to micro them properly, and you're going to have a tech lab starport for the ravens anyway.

That works then, good to know I can get away with not playing an RTS in 8 years and be 30 and be able to compete. Where do you see who's #1 in the world? The site linked at the beginning of this thread doesn't work for me

Urgggggh, just went 0-4 in 2v2, 3 of them were cheese:

1. Double proxy gates (saw they had no pylons, didn't do anything about it)
2. Proxy factory (didn't get tank in time)
3. Proxy rax & gate (I literally suicided 15 marines by moving instead of attack moving, we didn't rally to boulder to kill the attackers early enough)
4. Lost despite having more troops to a voidray mass after killing their whole wall on a wide map

Being gold in 2v2 is depressing. 17-13 now.

cuz u want marines ASAP (reactor build time is freaking long) + it cuts into your gas - so your ghost will be deleyed

The only game I ever saw a mothership in was the LT FFA I did for the achievement. I killed him last and he had one mothership and one carrier. I was not impressed. Quite enjoyed the TLO placement match where he mothership rushed though.

Beat: Haven't really encountered too many 1100+, so it feels like I'm beating up on newbs.
Variance: Only about 100 1100+ players on the NA server.
