The Star Wars Battlefront Beta is Coming October 8th

Get ready to be taken to a galaxy far, far away! Today, we are happy to reveal that the Star Wars™ Battlefront™ Beta will be available for PlayStation®4, Xbox One and on PC via Origin players between October 8 and October 12. The Star Wars Battlefront Beta is a technical test and will give Rebels and Imperials alike just a small taste of the Star Wars™ battle fantasies you can expect to live out when the game launches on November 17.

tried to log into my origin account to preload for the first time in 6 months. turns out somebody else got to it, changed my username password and email, and the notification email went to my gmail spam folder back in August. The "I didn't request this change" link in the email has long expired.

this should be fun.

took me a while to figure out what email i had associated with my Origin account, then I tried to pre-load and didn't have 64 bit windows lolz

so now I have to upgrade to win 10 then do a fresh 64 bit install to play beta

Is anyone able to actually get into the multi player part? I can do the survival but when I try drop zone it puts me in a lobby then nothing happens for a bit and I get booted to main screen.

I can get into the walker one fine. I didn't try cause it gives to a warning to level up and get some gear first but I did okay. Won first game

Defense on Walker Assault seems basically impossible. Walkers and the other vehicles like 1 shot killing you makes it too hard to hold the points from what I've seen.

I won my first assault as rebel side. Not sure if enemy was terrible but I guess it's doable.

It's very difficult, but not impossible, if people know what to do, stop worrying about their k/d and go after the AT-ATs when they're weak. There is no battlelog-type stat tracking for this and no tickets to lose for dying, so maybe more people will play the objective over time. The balance is definitely off, though.

It nails the Star Wars feel and should be a good game, but I don't think it's for me. I just want Battlefield 5.

You can but it's sorta buggy and don't always work. Basically if you're in a PS4 party, and one person joins a game (say, on Walker Assault), there will be a popup that says "so and so from your party has joined a game" and you can all press Triangle to join. But you all have to do it pretty quick or you'll wind up on diff teams or not in the game at all.

I was with a party of 4-6 last night and it worked like 60-70% of the time.

Also, we could not win as rebels but did have a few games where we knocked out at least one AT-AT which seemed like a small victory. The 2nd round of uplinks are by far the toughest to hold.

Apparently, you can use the speeders' tow cable to take 'em out at the legs (like the movie obv) but this seems fairly difficult to pull off.

It's almost impossible to get the AT-AT on the right(as you're facing the front) with the harpoon/tow cable b/c when you swing around it you'll end up hitting the rocks.

The rebel side has to work as a team as much as possible or it's a total fail.

game seems to do a horrible job explaining exactly what you're supposed to do on the Hoth level. Played a few hours and until I looked up videos online I had no idea what the point of the uplinks were, how the AT-AT shields worked/when they became vulnerable, or when you could use the cable trick to kill them.

seeing as how 90% of people just play TDM on the level, this seems to be a common problem.

As someone that has VERY LITTLE time to play video games (but loves them) this was one game I thought about getting this year (usually buy 1-2 a year)...thoughts? opinions? (**** CoD never buying it again, lol)
