Any general strategies you guys have when you're rushing back towards your goal underneath an airborne shot that's going in to try to save it?

I've gotten to the point where I can usually boost up to get in front of it, but at that point your momentum and the ball's momentum are both still going towards the net, so even if you get in the way you just slow it down and usually they're chasing and knock it in anyway.

Not that I can do it reliably, but I think the best plan is usually to boost up at it and hit it towards the goal but make it hit above or to the sides so it bounces back to midfield unless you're confident you can knock it to the sides.

Surely there's something else I can think of besides Rocket League where most people think they're better at it than they think they are but you don't have to be good to have fun with it.

Anyone interested in playing some 2s with me? Have some Christmas vacation coming up and I'd like to work on my rank, but it's getting hard to play at 700+ level with bad teammates against premades. Also would like to try some standard group if we have any decent players interested.
