Like, if you're approaching from the left wing, aim towards the right side of the ball and then do a jump -> quick roll left just as you're about to hit it.
I score off these all the time when they pop hard at a right angle to the goal off the wall, you can usually intercept it up near the goal and knock it in with a side jump if it looks like it's going to miss, or just for style points.
