Thinking about getting a PS Vita to take advantage of remote play, but only game I'm really interested in atm for "on-the-go" play would be walking dead. Can anybody confirm that Walking Dead on the vita is the same one that's supposed to be amazing on Ps3/PC/etc.?
Looking forward to going back to Sony now, didnt like the PS3 much so went 360, but specs are better and the PS4 looks to be about gaming is which is what i want

Every version of the walking dead is the same, even the iphone version.
I noticed that too....I am glad that I am waiting until most likely next year when the good games come out and some bugs worked out of the initial launch consoles.
Would like to say that this is the least surprising sentence ever:

Killzone: Shadow Fall is gorgeous but poorly designed and boring for the duration of its campaign.
Review is positive though. Conclusion is basically that there's no system-selling games for it yet:

But the PlayStation 4's focus on gaming — and only gaming — is undermined by a distinct lack of compelling software. That failing is sure to improve — better games and more of them will appear on the PlayStation 4 — but right now, this is a game console without a game to recommend it. Early adopters of the PS4 this fall are buying potential energy. We're just waiting for a place to spend it.
1. Went to 2 different Targets today, both totally sold out of NBA, Battlefield & Killzone. Best Buy then refused to price match. It's going to be annoying if I can't play a game on Friday.
2. How will PS Plus work on PS4? What are the free games going to be? Will we able to DL the free PS3 games to the PS4 and play them?
3. As far as movie watching I am a little concerned. I think I read somewhere you can't copy movie files onto the HD like PS3. Is this true? Streaming sucks for me due to the crappy PC we have, so I usually copy the movie to the PS3 and watch from there. Will I not be able to do this anymore?
You will definitely not be able to play PS3 games on PS4 in any form at launch. You will still get free games with PS Plus however the only games I've heard about on PS4 are Don't Starve and BOI: Rebirth and both won't be on PS4 until next year.
You're going to want to keep your PS3 for movies as well. At launch you will not be able to copy movies over or even do DLNA streaming from your PC. I suggest just buying a WDTV for that kind of thing though. The PS4 doesn't even support MP3 let alone any movie formats.
The free games are Resogun and Contrast. If you own Flower on ps3, you can get it free on ps4 too. I think the ps4 comes with a free month of ps+, so I'm gonna sign up then. Hoping to pick up 2k14 tomorrow somewhere in town.
I sincerely hope this is isolated to a few consoles.

Though the PlayStation 4 won't be released in North America until Friday, some users who have obtained early access to the systems are reporting broken displays. An IGN retail PS4 stopped outputting through the HDMI after the user began downloading Netflix. Kotaku's first retail system also reportedly had a faulty HDMI jack that would not output a signal. Two other users on NeoGAF, who obtained early access to their consoles via a Taco Bell promotion, also reported similar problems with HDMI outputs. Based on reports from at least one user, Sony has been responsive to warranty claims and is shipping a replacement unit. As is the case for all PlayStation hardware, the PS4 is covered by warranty for twelve months.
It's not unusual for the early runs of console hardware to experience trouble. There are nearly limitless relationships between hardware, software, and user behavior. While many of the incompatibilities can be cleared up during testing, the scale of interactions when the console goes public is bound to reveal numerous otherwise unpredictable problems.
IGN has reached out to Sony for comment but has not yet heard back. Users who are experiencing trouble are encouraged to contact Sony support 1-800-345-SONY.

how does the remoteplay work? how far can you be with the vita?
Over local wifi / as close as need be for a good signal, especially if you have the PS4 broadcasting on the same wifi too (connect it with ethernet imo)
Anyone know where a good place to follow launch stuff online is as far as frequently updated? Ign has been pretty underwhelming so far. Bricking issues, game reviews (I see reviews for the same like six or seven games everywhere - I am impatient and want reviews of everything), general updates, etc.?
Seems like the amount of actual hands-on information is quite low given the social media age. I'm assuming (hoping) the bricking/HDMI issues are just isolated incidents but never know.
I saw last night (not even sure on source so not even sure how accurate it is it was late) that there were 5-6 reports out of presumably 5000 or so that were delivered/in use. I plan on getting both anyway eventually and it's not like Sony won't be super responsive if there's a wide spread issue. Microsoft was always very responsive with my RROD consoles (all four of them - was just a huge hassle obv the warranty/time to get honored was never an issue) and I'd expect the same from the competition.
I expect problems like this with any launch this big but that won't prevent me from somewhere between raging and crying if mine is bad.
eh, it's always worrying when you hear about consoles having issues like that. But it's such a small number that we have to see how it shakes out in the next few weeks. Social media amplifies this stuff tremendously.
I have an in on getting a ps4 on launch. No interest in keeping it, what are things looking like on the reseller front? Any chance i will be able to get somebody to take it off my hands on ebay for 20-30% over cost, or will Sony have enough at launch?
