On a scale from "It wasn't me guv!" to "I'll get my coat", how responsible were you for the lack of sound on the opening 10 minutes of the show?

There was sound in the auditorium, just not direct sound to the stream.

Which stream (Twitch/YouTube/both) lost it? There were a few folks yelling at each other about it after the show.

The ridiculous thing was we had two days of testing all that stuff prior to the show.

Within a day they should upload a good recording of the show.

I was on twitch.tv/playstation, that lost it through the end of Horizon dlc trailer. at which point I went to IGN youtube (sound, but lag) and then back to twitch (fixed! hooray!)

About an hour before the show.

That sucks. I know there was an internet issue at the site right before the show but they had other backup paths.

No idea if the audio problem was an equipment failure or a screwup.

Indeed pretty weird that sound made it to youtube rebroadcasts and not the official twitch. Didn't check the official youtube or live.playstation.com (for some reason this didn't have the pre-show, wtf). Tho I was watching on PS4 so twitch and youtube apps were easy compared to a browser url.

If you're trying to debug / post-mortem - When I say "no sound", that's not quite accurate. Twitch was getting auditorium feed - we could hear audience, and them being faded up between trailers. CEO speaking came through fine. When trailers were playing, could hear only very low frequency audio, if cranking up the volume - presumably from the auditorium mics but that's just a guess.

You nailed it. No idea why they wen't getting the main show playbacks right away. Looking like a major screwup. We used a different video server for the pre-show and the show and it appears that the audio engineer didn't make the switch for the stream right away.

Yeah was just a Twitch issue, streamed great on Youtube.

Really hope that the rest of MGS V is better than this opening scene, which is like WOAT.

OK so I have played this game for 2 hours and have get to have a single minute of actual fun, does anyone have advice on how to play/enjoy this game better? People talk about it being a masterpiece but I seriously cannot deal with third person stealth games, probably just a sunk cost at this point for me.

Well being that it's a third person stealth game you're probably not going to enjoy it.

If you are not enjoying it after two hours, you're not going to enjoy it as the game doesn't really develop much. That was the main problem with the game. It didn't evolve.

That's fine, it will just be a sunk cost for me, like the last Metal Gear game I bought. Turns out I just don't really like third person action games in general when I really think about it - the Batman/Shadow of Mordor games were great for me and I enjoyed Tomb Raider but everything else it just meh, and I actively didn't like Red Dead Redemption or GTS. For some reason I could get stealth in the aforementioned games and first person games but never in the MG series. I wanted to give this one a shot because it was so well reviewed but I'd rather spend my gaming hours differently.

I bought MGSV on day 1 for the multiplayer. Hated the MP, and never bothered to play the single player. Worst game purchase I have made.

Yeah sucks to waste money (it was only $10 for me so not so bad...) but it does feel better to see people in solidarity with disliking games that other people love and even consider all-time greats. I'm not terribly bummed because I realized the risk going in but I was just hoping that the positive elements would outweigh the things I normally don't care for. Frankly I don't know how people avoid being seen in this game, I seriously can't go 2 steps without being detected whereas I have no problem being relatively stealthy in the games I mentioned above and something like Far Cry.
