i think ive caught 1 magic karp and hatched 2... im only lvl 20 tho. 2 that i have have a IV of 89% tho, they are my highest IV that i have.

didn't realize how good my magikarp is. 148cp and 98% IV. only have 125 candy but I can walk or drive to bodies of water.

I still need one of those. I think there are still five things you can hatch from a 10k egg that I need.

And only one from the 2k egg GUESS WHICH ONE.

Next time I go into DC I might lurk around my boyfriend's office, as that's the one place in the city I know a Pikachu has spawned. Next time I'm going to hit a bunch of new stuff like Chinatown and the Tidal Basin.

I just leveled up to 20 and then my son (using my account) encountered a wild Pidgot with the good, old ??? CP. My kids and I wasted half the ultra balls I got for leveling up plus a bunch of great balls, but finally got it.

Good news: at 876 CP, it's my strongest monster.
Bad news: 44.4% IV

Lol at spending that much to get a monster you could have gotten both cheaper, easier and more powerful by evolving your own.

The difference between high IV and low IV isn't big. Dusts and candies to level up (maximize CP) are however in short supply.

I just got a low CP high IV dragonite (raised from dratini). In retrospect I think I should have waited because 70 candies later, the dragonite is still not maxed out.

TLDR: focus your IV efforts only on the best pokemons you intend to keep forever and before evolving the low CP high IV pokemons, make sure you got the candies to max too or you might as well wait and hope for another high IV pokemon that's also high CP.

Yeah, I know, but my kids get crazy excited when they have a chance to capture something powerful. It was pretty fun to see them cheer when I caught it after they failed a bunch of times.

I'm not too concerned about wasting balls - I've been going to a nearby park a few times a week to get some exercise and hit a billion Pokestops.

What's the highest caterpie/weedle cp you guys have caught and/or hatched? Level 23 here & highest are 231/242cp. Seen only 1 metapod/2 kakuna & they are weaker, wondering when to evolve.

On our way home tonight, my daughter was playing on my phone (I'M DRIVING - I'M NOT AN ANIMAL) and encountered a ??? CP Weezing. After a couple balls, it did the old escape in a puff of smoke.

A minute later, she checked my Pokemon list and the Weezing was there - 1,071 CP, my first over 1,000. Very weird.

Yea just some low 200s. Just evolve them whenever (or save for while using lucky eggs). You'll find the kakuna/metapods don't gain much CP and then the beedrill/buterfrees will only double at most so you're probably looking at 600-700 final evolutions at best

Look up some pokemon strength rankings. There is really no reason to keep anything that's not in the, not counting legendaries, top 20, maybe only 10, or so. The CP difference is quite large at higher levels. (2 powerups per level, so level 30=60? powerups, that's 800+ difference in CP between Dragonite and bottom of S tier)

Even the S tier is probably too large of a target. I am level 28 and I got barely enough stardust during 27-28 to keep 8 pokemons topped off. I am already thinking about dropping 2 of my 3 gyrados from my topped off list (Dragonite, 3x Gyrados, 1xVaporean, 1xExeggutor, 1x Nidoking, 1xJolteon.)

I think they even have no effect or the change is so small to be insignificant.

- Use a raspberry - Breaks out on second wiggle
- Use another raspberry - Breaks out on first wiggle
- Don't use anything and it catches it.

The game mechanics should be that a raspberry should be like uses a better ball but I see no evidence of that.

I still use them though because what else am I going to do with them.
