Just saw the 2 table South Park pack for FX2 on Steam for $5. The Butters table looks amazing, anyone tried it yet?

with so many tables popping up I cant justify paying full price and I always wait sales to get them.
havent played this game in a while have to reinstall it.
quickly scrolling over tables I dont have,I wont get the foot tables I dont like football(soccer),and plant vs z,otherwise Ill get the missing at xmas.
totally unwise to get all the tables tho if u hope to reach a decent score it takes a lot of time to master one table (I got decent score on the rome table).

edit:u guys have any highscores?

I read the manual for the boba fett SW table and spent about ten hours on it, looks like i'm around 1100th place with 60mil points. You're probably right.

I have started playing the free FX2 game Sorcerer's Lair. I've spent a lot of time on it and studied the manual a bit as well. That table is awesome to me as noob. I am currently at about the 1000 mark with ~350 million points on the leaderboard.

The one complaint I have about that table is that the only way to rack up really huge numbers is during the wizard mode. Maybe all tables are like that but it seems a little unbalanced. Maybe I'm missing some part where I could score massive points outside of the wizard mode but I haven't stumbled upon one yet.

Of course I lack skill as well. Multiball is usually just a messy frenzy but I at least try to mimick the pros and aim to control the balls and rest them on the flippers and what not but it's not easy. Good fun though.

I am also a sucker for all things Star Wars. If I were to get one SW table is there a consensus #1 that I should try first?

tried the sorcerer lair after ur post and got 23M after a few tries.
to score big either your grinding a single combo (a safe one) or you unlock the multiball/wizard/whatever is the highest scoring potential and get the jackpot.
unfortunately for me Ive never been able to unlock the romulus jackpot on the rome table (a multiball with super precise shots for massive bonus.I mean I unlock the challenge but cannot complete it) and I got a top 100 score grinding only one combo over and over.
I fell down to top 500 it seems (my score was from last year) so might try again, but Im gonna try other tables(just reinstalled the game today).

for star wars I only got empire strike back boba fet and clone wars (that was a pack I guess).
I like original trilogy so Ill go return of the jedi.
Idk which table is the balance of the force but apparentely the 2 sides of the force are battling in leaderboards or something and your supposed to root for your side (cant remember where I read that).

some of the top scores have been cheats Idk if its the case on PC.

recommend again blade table, and pasha table is lot of fun.
tried the demo of south park ahah its good D

I have played a lot of Sorcerer's Lair and have boosted my highscore to 1.08 billion which is good enough for 125th or something globally. My first ever score in the billions.

The FX2 tables (or at least Sorcerer's Lair) are very lenient on mistakes compared to real tables or the ones in Pinball Arcade. The flippers sit closer to eachother. I was able to keep the ball savers on almost all the time and also block the outer lane drains. Those activations are pretty easy/common and extra ball is not super difficult either.

I don't know for how long I played but dear god to get to 5.5 billion must take forever. It's possible to legit pause the game, exit it and come back later but that feels more than a little cheesy. Perhaps even considered cheating?

Initial South Park pack impressions: nice fan service, the first general themed table is a bit too busy with lots of highly specialized minigames, though that might be a pluss, but there's no default camera angle that's comfortable to play with and the table ends up feeling both too big and too cramped. The zoomed out one is too far away and all the rest pan the camera pretty hard while following the ball which I can't stand. The Butters themed table is amazing from a newbie standpoint, no idea how much depth it has.

Can you make custom camera settings in FX2?

dont think so.
got 40M at sorcerers lair.
my biggest weakness in all these pinballfx2 tables are the mini games I think.
damn I have so many tables I didnt even play I need to pick one and stick to it.
excalibur is nice but I think Im gonna try a marvel one either avengers or spiderman.
too many tables too many !!

This isn't really custom but FX2 supports portrait mode and I can't play it any other way now. If you can rotate your monitor 90 degrees, definitely give it a try.

love to play with monitor turned but Im too lazy to rotate it most of the time.
I used to have a dual monitor one of these always turned for shoot'em ups.
tate ftw!
anyone tried infinity gauntlet?
one of the bonus stage turns the screen upside down it feels so weird

Yah, it's better in portrait but I'm with weeez :> Having to go in to the display settings and swap and then raise the monitor up to adjust it and navigate steam sideways is a bit more than I want to put up with given how randomly I fire up the game. Maybe I'm doing it the hard way though.

Thanks, that makes it more bearable - I didn't realize the trigger buttons showed more options on the sides. The camera angles are all relatively the same and feel a bit too top down with my 1920x1200, it doesn't seem like they adjusted the values in portrait mode from landscape.

is this a downloadable game? Or do you have to buy it in the store?

On Steam both Pinball FX2 and Pinball Arcade are free to install. When you start the game only one free table will be available. Sorcerer's Lair in FX and Tales of the Arabian Nights in PA. Then you can test the other tables for a short playing time and buy them in various packs or as singles.

Just got 63rd all time on the FX2 Butters Show South Park table with 93mil. I keep getting up to 70-80mil on the first ball then tank the last two Anyone interested in me uploading a high-score video?

Also, are the scores fairly normalized across all the FX2 tables? Or is a billion in Sorceror's Lair way easier than in some other tables?
