Was looking at a set of razers that were supposed to be really comfortable with amazing sound. 150 could get the top of the line model iirc

If you are playing on the PC go for headphones and a 10$ stick mike.

140$ get's you a very good sony ( I hear the Sony MDR-7506 is very good ) or sennheiser, and those are going to butt**** any turtle beach of the same price.

Buying from any of the "gaming" manufacturers is the super donk move.

This guy has a nice list (obviously based on personal taste): http://www.head-fi.org/t/534479/mad-...-hfi-15g-added
If you can, go somewhere were you can try on the different models befure you buy them.

Your headphones won't sparkle in many colors tho.

Yeah I prefer a plain pair of headphones lol I could careless about the look. One with a mic seems worthless to me as I don't console game anymore and already have a PC mic

Comfort is > all else imo, but I tend to wear headphones for extended durations

It is the same game, which is the only pc game i play: WoW. I don't have it on very high settings, but just playing a few minutes ago and it crashed after the game had been running about 3 minutes or so.

I looked it up but it's basically worthless. It just says 'power lost or rebooted' essentially. The meat of the bugcheck code is blank, so not much help.

Code:
EventData

  BugcheckCode 0
  BugcheckParameter1 0x0
  BugcheckParameter2 0x0
  BugcheckParameter3 0x0
  BugcheckParameter4 0x0
  SleepInProgress false
  PowerButtonTimestamp 0
I tried to enable a minidump thing I read about on m$ website, but due to some wacky configurations I made for this dual ssd system I don't have a paging file and that apparently prevents me from doing so.

Think when semester is over I'll just reformat and start from scratch, sans any weird, unresearched performance boosts.

I wanna say it's a PSU issue, but what do I know.
If you do reformat, follow Sean's Win7 setup guide. It's good stuff.

WoW definitely has problems with graphic cards that try to offload stuff to the onboard graphics card. See if you can either disable the onboard graphics in your BIOS or if you can disable the offloading function in your graphics card.

I had the same issue in my Alienware and Dell couldn't fix it for a long time. It only happened in WoW and replacing motherboard, memory and graphic card (twice) did not resolve it. In the end they changed my AMD card to a much better NVIDIA and the problem stopped. It is related to drivers where certain combinations of onboard graphic drivers don't work nice with the graphic card drivers.

For WoW a much better place to get help with this is their technical support forum. Here is an example post of what to collect:

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/7006344371

Lots of very knowledgeable people there that will help you.

Not having a paging file at all is also probably not a good thing if you run WoW in 64 bit mode.

My mobo (asus z97-a) has this under onboard vid:

Quote:
Onboard Video
Onboard Video Chipset
Supported only by CPU with integrated graphic
And I think I got a 4590k or 4690k, I forget which. I only see one thing listed in the device manager where my nvidia card shows up. Is there still something to disable?

Disable it from your BIOS

If it has a specific name I could look for it, but the only thing that remotely sounded like it in my bios was already disabled.

Ended up just reformatting. It always bugged me how I had the hard drives set up, so it was as good an excuse as any.

Updating the chipset driver and a few others, but won't be gaming for a week, so I won't really know if this fixed it. Time will tell.

I'll never buy another pair of headphones that have leather material that comes in contact with my ears/skin. Gets pretty hot if you wear them for extended periods of time.

That said maybe these are designed in such a way where that isn't an issue but I'd def keep my receipt.

Do you guys think its possible to build a computer that will run relatively light games like csgo and minecraft at 300fps (or more) while streaming, and also get a 144hz monitor for under 1200$?

Debating how badly I want to get owned by 13 yr olds...

Okay, finally getting useful error codes after rebuilding the OS.

bugcheckcode 278

Seems power/graphics related. Only happens when WoW is being played, and almost exclusively when I'm in a raid or killing a raid boss with >20 other people around.

This is essentially my build:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NwrZ99

except that I got this power supply instead of the antec one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139048

Is there any way to check how much power is getting to my graphics card? Does that monitor program someone suggested earlier do that?

EDIT

Oh, and the game is installed on a different hdd than it was before. (read something about that here)

Power supply not good enough to handle vid card on raid?
PC Gaming hardware discussion Quote
10-17-2014 , 07:32 PM
If you suspect the power supply then just run something like Everest that shows your motherboard sensors and look at the voltage numbers while you are playing. If it is your power then you should see your +12 and -12 at much lower values before it crashes.

Edit: Saw the image you sent earlier from hardware monitor. If that was done while you were raiding in WoW then it is not your power supply.

Someone with a similar problem and error code suggested that reverting to old nvidia drivers fixed their issue. Might have to try that next.

Though I'm not sure the best way to accomplish that as I've followed the security guidelines here and set my PC account as non-admin. Guess I need to log over so's I can uninstall the drivers. Blah.

What's lol about it? I see pros running 500 while streaming on CS:GO, but I think it's top of the line stuff.
