I'm seeing a current bid of 3 GCP 1 Alch for a 13% Life Leech on default. Hard to say if this particular gem would go for more or less on HC. It does have a particular use for staying in alive in a particular spot that makes it more valuable. But prices are higher in general on default.

I'd throw up on auction on the forums if I were you.

Raaaage. I'm playing hardcore, and found my first unique item, the Silverbranch bow. Pretty stoked. I literally fired two arrows before my computer lagged a bit, I was swarmed by exploding squid creatures and died.

I would've already quit this game if I was playing hardcore. I've died so many times to desyncs it's ridiculous. Just today I played ONE map, I died a total of 6 times (90% exp loss). Every single death to desync. The problem was that, since I already started the map, I couldn't just quit it because their servers were total ****. There's no way to suspend map progress and save it for another day or something. I started the map with about 90% exp, and ended without clearing it and about 5% exp. So ****ing rage inducing.

I'm literally sitting in an empty room that's already cleared of all enemies, watching my health drop down until I die. Then I get rubberbanded back to some other spot where 1 dude is hitting me with a club. ****ing game.

What do you expect? Most of the people who play the game haven't paid a single penny. Obviously they're not going to have the best servers.

when the servers are laggy (so at peak times) I just don't play or rarity farm somewhere easy

I think they need to limit the game a bit for those who have not contributed. I think limiting accounts to one free character and like 2 stash pages only would be good.

The only thing I've learned to avoid desyncs is that you shouldn't use any skills while moving.

I just completed act 3 in normal difficulty.

I don't know how you guys are doing HC, I died 33 times in normal.

Granted this is my first character and first playthrough and it's a Marauder and I'm going 2 hander offensive.

If I had to to do it over again I get the feeling I could manage to do in 5 or less deaths, but 0? Ouch no way. There's just so much that can kill you quickly.

I guess since you don't every "lose" your hardcore character I will play HC in PoE at some point.

I'm level 83 on hardcore

I've completely abandoned several maps, some of them nice ones, when I started desyncing badly.

I've had a couple close calls from desyncing... seething health pots are a real life saver.

That said I've also been lucky a few times honestly.

well with a melee character, you're definitely not making it very far. I wanted to play melee, and I already knew coming in (from d3 experience) that melee was probably going to suck hard. I don't know why I make myself suffer like this. At least marauder has a nice skill tree though, and he's close to templar. Duelist's starting area is totally laughable. Seriously, if you haven't looked at it, go take a quick look and compare it to the templar start to see how terribly balanced the classes in this game are.

Former duelist here, rolled a ranger which I lost at 30 due to desync but otherwise rushed through the content super quickly without ANY problems

They announced the first series of race events they'll be running over the next couple of months. These type of things sound super fun and you can win prizes and stuff. Obviously I don't think I'll win, as those Kripp type gamers will crush, but still fun to participate.

I'm glad you still get rewards for hitting certain milestone levels, even though you might not be anywhere near the top of the ladder in the event.

Makes for a way to farm the rewards without being one of the 'Kripp type gamers' as you just said. And even then, if you get lucky with a superdrop in a 1/3h race you might just powerlevel harder than the kripps of poe.

I don't have a dedicated party tho, so I'm mostly going to do solo events. Maybe we can set up some 2p2 teams for some races?

1. What does "Kripp-type gamer" mean?

2. Brother sent me an email saying he had a chat with a higher level toon and said these were pretty common exchange rates. Is this close?
1 exalted = 5gcp
1 divine = 3gcp
1 gcp = 3 chaos
1 chaos = 2 alchs
1 alch = ??

I'm guessing a super dedicated player who will min-max the **** out of everything and therefore be at a huge advantage over the typical "good" player.

There are also a lot of players in these races who play like 20 hours a day. I don't know what's stopping them from playing 24/7 using a friend's help.

exalt = 2 divine (therefore divine = 2.5 gcp)

generally 1 alch = 1 fusing = 8 alts

A poster here said that in HC, 1 gcp = 2 or 2.5 chaos I think. But on SC it is gcp = 3 chaos.

I don't play much now because of my frustrations with the game's current state but I added you a few days ago london. My witch is named apricot_neptune, she's at the end of act 2 normal.

For Hardcore GCP is gaining a bit of value lately

It was down to about 2.5 chaos, but now it's probably closer to 3.

For hardcore off the top of my head

1 Exalt = 2 Divine
1 Exalt = 4.5-5 GCP
1 Exalt = 12-13 Chaos
1 Exalt = 20-21 alchs
1 GCP = somewhere between 2.5 and 3 chaos
1 GCP = somewhere between 4.5 and 5 alchs
5 Chaos = 3 Alch
1 Chaos = slightly better than 2 Fusing
1 Chaos = 17ish alts
1 Alch = 10 alts
1 Fusing = 8 Alts/4 Jewelers (vendor price)
5 Fusing = 4 Alch
2 Alts = 1 Jeweler (vendor price)

Blessed Orbs are a very chaotic item, hard to price, somewhere around an alch or a chaos idk

This is all very rough and varies from person to person

edit: chromatic orbs are worth around an alt, but I've not traded in them much so idk which direction in leans and by how much

I don't really see why 5 chaos = 3 alch tbh.

Chaos should be worth about alch + scouring. I guess maybe in HC scouring is worth less than in SC (would make sense since regrets in HC should be useless right about now).

but SC price is chaos = alch + scouring = 2 alch

to explain for others, you can reroll a rare by either using a chaos orb or using a scouring and then alchemy. The end result is the same, so they should be worth about the same (although you get more flexibility out of having alch + scouring than 1 chaos, the downside is that it takes up twice the stash space).

ya a scour is definitely worth less than an alch in HC I forgot to add those and regrets to my list

they're hard to price

Regret is more than alch, less than a chaos
Scour is less than an alch... not sure how much less

edit: I guess a scour on HC is worth about 2/3 of an alch based on chaos:alch?

edit again: 5 chaos 3 alch feels like a meh deal for the chaos person, but you only rarely can get 2:1 ratio. I guess you can try for 4:7 or 5:9.
I see about 1 person, maybe 2 people per day offer 2:1 (their)alchs for chaos and they never respond to me, I assume they get a ton of tells.

just reread our posts and realized that we flipped the numbers around (should be 5 alch = 3 chaos in your case)

don't know how we managed to go through multiple posts with the numbers backwards the whole time. Probably confusing for anyone who read it.

I have NO idea what most of this stuff means....yet. I have a bunch of orbs but I haven't really put the time in to read about what they do. I figure if I get stuck somewhere and have to upgrade my gear, then I'll play around with it. For now I just like to run around killing stuff.

Scour is .5 or .6 alch
alch:regret is 3:2 or 4:3

Alch to chaos I really don't understand how to price but I just go with the 2:1 which appears standard.

Kripparrian is a well known hard core gamer who pretty much plays video games for a living, has sponsers and streams and stuff. He has a Twitch Stream and a Youtube channel you can check out. He's been going nuts with PoE the past few months. He pretty much memorizes every skill, every stat, every build, and has a team of dedicated gamers like him that he does stuff with.

When the races start you'll get to like level 10 at the end of the hour going balls out thinking you're doing awesome and see Kripp up at the top at level 28 and be like WTF?

Yeah the way they do it looks really cool, you can get something by just getting a few Reward Points in a couple events.
