I'm liking the LA/frenzy, but it's crazy how useless I am vs reflect. Wondering if I should respec for an evasion based build or switch to split arrow. Problem with evasion based build is: all of my armor is pure armor, I think. Good times.

Path of Exile's first mini-expansion, Sacrifice of the Vaal, launches at 1pm PST on March 5. It expands the core game and sets the pace for our ongoing four-monthly updates. This is awesome, i had no idea there would be more content added besides the new leagues !

So I played PoE a long time ago but it didn't hook me then. Played and finished diablo 3 recently and it was very disappointing. Saw this thread was still active so downloaded and started again - seems a lot has changed and it's looking awesome!

I started a new character (templar) and got what i think is a good item from the 2nd boss - i 1-hit everything now. Was this lucky or pretty ordinary?



Also what's the deal with the "wipe" coming soon - all characters will be deleted?

Oh and what's the deal with servers - can i create a character on one and switch around easily, or will it be "stuck" there?

Also just got a "disconnection error" or something where the game quit to main menu and I was back in town and had to walk back to where I was. How often does that happen? I get that it's still in beta and **** happens so i'm not complaining, just curious.

Last Q - is there a way to increase the difficulty?

There're quite a few items that are great for early game levelling and that's one of them. There're also things like Araku Tiki, Blackheart, Thousand Ribbons, Goldrim, Silverbranch and Redbeak.

If you're in nemesis or domination, when the servers reset in a couple of weeks your char will be moved to hardcore or softcore respectively.

The game isn't in beta anymore, but like any game there're still server problems sometimes. It's not common.

The game will get more difficult by itself, just keep going.

There're some posts from a while ago about what to look out for early game, but for now: you're picking up too much stuff. Ignore all the whites unless they have three linked sockets of different colours. You can sell those at the vendor for a chromatic orb.

If you're playing on the AU server, chances are you'll have a low ping for yourself but anyone who enters an instance you've made and is on NA or EU will likely have a lot of latency.

The disconnection error sounds odd; I would check the forums to see if you can change some settings if it happens often.

I learned that one of the bosses in Courtyard can leap slam on me, and that his GMP stuff shotguns. I insta died.

No rustles. There is just literally no one on, ever, in the past 2-3 weeks.
