I have a similar duelist bow build and theres quite some good stuff coming from ranger/duelist starting points like diamond skin, iron reflexes and 2.3% life reg.

hes not picking up the +int nodes for the mana, he uses skills that need intelligence. the +30 nodes are great for getting a specific attribute to a required level so you can use specific support or skill gems.

Well, GG my shadow. Normal Vaal owned me hard. My build and gameplay was grossly inadequate for that fight. Not sure what I want to try next.

I'm 54 and still in cruel A2 haha. I do not want to fight the oak bandit and doing this in a party could potentially be bad if someone picks the opposite choice as you (you end up fighting the player and if you die, you get dropped to the default league).

Although I've never actually looked at anyone's builds before either, other than my 2 friends that I play with. All our stuff is original, so it's interesting to see how different the builds are from people who play the game more seriously.
Yeah I'm doing something similar. I picked up the unique belt that gives 48 str and 25% physical damage so I might get some more of the physical damage nodes around the ranger starting area instead of the elemental damage he picked up. I'm also lacking elemental weapon (I think) support gems.

ouch. I did oak on cruel with a friend, who needed to get the stat point while I opted for the 12% dmg. He was instagibbed by 1 leap (1 of my attacks took down his eshield first).

Then he spent 15 minutes soloing oak since the game didn't allow me to help him at all.

I'm lvl 47 in cruel act 3 right now, softcore ofc.

Rolling a marauder after both my witches died to desync. I am having fun smashing everything in sight. Life regen and life on hit make it fun. I am curious how it will be in act 3. I am only level 19. Anyone wants to run, let me know.

I got a sick leave so I started a new HC witch.

Spoiler:

I already lost a few fresh hc chars to the medicine chest boss. To be honest, I hate him...

Yeah, it really seems like first 5 levels can be a challenge if you don't get lucky drops etc.

You keep your hc stash right? If you do, then I'm sure it gets much easier after multiple runs.

Well, my 3rd witch went down at level 13 in the abandoned ship area. Gosh I feel like I suck hard. Time to try to get to cruel with my duelist and get some experience.

Anybody mind commenting on my build? My idea was to go with 1h sword + shield and I'm using lightning strike and cleave. Not sure if I'm heading the right direction at all and where to go next after I take sword dmg uppers. This is softcore now.

Really enjoying playing hardcore almost finished normal. Just stacking health and resists and havnt had any major scares on my ranger.

So is Piety hard? i have to kill her now but know nothing about the fight

Piety was the only time in A1 normal where I had to party but I was playing melee, not a ranger. I don't want to spoil the fight for you, but I think I wouldn't want to go into the zone without max triple resists and a dispel frozen flask on HC.

I would avoid weapon focuses early, it really limits your gear at a time when you should just be using the best item you manage to get.

Leather & steel nodes are actually absurdly efficient when compared to the pure +eva nodes. I was making an Iron Reflexes based build, and I had the hardest time finding any good evasion nodes while using only the evasion from L&S as a benchmark.

how do you guys price items? I hoard my rares to vendor them for chaos, but I noticed a few that might be useful for anyone (mind you, it's 15-30lvl gear). How do I decide how much I can get for that?

thanks for build advice CC!

I played this game a few months ago and I remember being pretty underwhelmed, especially by the move/attack/spell mechanics. Moving felt very rigid and there were few opportunities to micro. I'm willing to give it another try, but I do have one question to anyone that played the closed beta. How much has the game changed since then?

Actually I played last in like Feb 2012. Damn. Yea I'll just give it another go.

The "rumors" about attack speed fixing the game are true too. Once I got a fast weapon the entire game changed for the better. It becomes really responsive. It's really a massive difference for the better.

I feel like right now it's better than D3 without a doubt and the best thing about it is they are going to be constantly patching in new content. They have no reason to horde away good features to sell them in an expansion like Blizzard will with D3. It's the exact opposite for PoE, they want to release cool stuff when it's ready because it will attract more people.

I hadn't played it since at least that long ago, maybe even earlier. It seems like a totally different game to me now.
