I didnt like flameblast that much.
it was really great while leveling but gameplay wasnt fun for me (you dont shoot at or hit things).
So I died like a hundred times in trials and labs with my life based build,I shifted to energy shield,and died like twice since.
what a difference!

I have stopped leveling,Im dying super often (less and less after learning how to play this build) most of the time cause I run like a mad man into monsters and slam all keys at once.

Drop the Scion life nodes and take another damage node! May as well go all out... 
There is a program called Path of Building you might like. You make a tree and input your equipment/gems/etc, and it gives a very detailed analysis of your character. It's stopped me making too many massive failures.

I could prob do normal characters for stuff I haven't used before but I usually just do that when I play.

only thing I see is getting max life max mana or ele damage,nothing great.
you are capped energy shield wise I think (double roll stun+IES).
so you got 5 affixes already and have place for one prefix.
Im learning so I might be wrong.
can corrupt it too
or craft suffixes cannot be changed and divine it.
136 to 145 for max energy shield
the increase ES part is hard to tell (maybe impossible) and the idea is to know how low the rolls are.
