The only time I get mad in Overwatch is when teammates won't get on the point when the timer or rope is ticking. Yes, I know you're at greater risk of dying if you're on the point. But there's 5 seconds left in the game and you're the only person near the point. The game ends in 5 seconds anyway. Just yolo and get to the point! Even if you just buy us 2 additional seconds, that's an additional 2 seconds for people to come from spawn to the point.

Got so mad this morning when I was approaching the point this morning and the D.Va nearest the point was backing away from the point. D.Va! Yes, a Roadhog was chasing her, but she could have flown over him just to get to the point. Instead, the game ended when I was literally one step away from being on the point. Yes, we were probably going to lose anyway because it was 1 v 3, but it could have been 2 v 3, had the D.Va not been retreating with 5 seconds left in the game.

I saw people talking about Oversumo, so I just downloaded it and it's pretty neat!

In today's Daily Competitive Play Report, it says I'm Platinum I.

For Hero Performance, my two mains are Lucio (197 games) and Zen (98 games). Says I'm Platinum I with Lucio and Platinum IV with Zen. I didn't have more than 12 games with anyone else.

Other fun stats:

Lucio damage done - Master
Zen damage done - Master
Zen elims - Diamond
Zen final blows - Master
Zen defensive assists - Diamond

I choose to ignore all my bad stats.

I'm going to finish the season with 1790-something SR, silver rank.

Thanks for pointing out this app. It's fun.

Also, I proudly had two POTG's a couple days ago as Lucio. They involved my two favorite things: punching people in the face and booping them off ledges. So satisfying.

Hm, it has my main characters all at platinum.

seems like they have a weird way of evaluating it

I read the explanation of the app's ratings and it basically says it looks at actual in-game performance, rather than wins and losses.

Who knows if it's at all accurate, but I think it's pretty cool.

the numbers themselves are probably accurate. all the app does is rank them across the player base but with no regard to your SR. someone putting up stats against silver players will be ranked the same as someone putting up those same stats against grandmaster players but obviously it doesnt mean they are equal players. yet gold dps pros see this and think they would be in masters if it werent for those meddling kids

Yea the way they rank performance by using the nomenclature of the overwatching ranking system is weird. They should just say top 1%, top 5%, etc.

It is cool to see how the numbers change as you increase rank, and where you start to plateau.

I got all nine of my arcade wins for the week and now I'm wondering what to do. In mystery heroes, twice I ended up against quintuple tank, once supported by Ana. That's pretty much impossible when you and your teammates keep randing into squishies.

I like arcade just fine, but last night I ventured into quick play for the first time in months.

What a complete waste of time.

I like QP because it's the place where I am actually GOOD with Soldier.

In all seriousness, I should play QP more so I can practice with DPS and tanks. I really enjoy running with healers, but I need more variety. I am barely adequate with anything other than Lucio or Zen (maybe Ana).

I did have a nice Hanzo/Widow run in Mystery Heroes yesterday. Kind of nice actually doing well with a sniper.

I'm hoping for Season 4, I can place a little higher to start (I was around 1650 or so to begin with) so that it might be a little easier to go on a run to gold. Though I fell just short in Season 3 (my first season), maxing just above 1900, I was pleased that I was able to make that much of a recovery after bottoming at 1201 and feel like I played well with my two mains.

i don't really get the distinction between gold silver etc other than just as a broad identifier of some sorts. am i missing something? like i was at 1550 or so 2 days ago and then went down to like 1450 before the season ended am i missing out on something important because i am below 1500 now (and thus bronze) as opposed to above and silver?

QP is just a crap shoot. Sometimes, you get a team that actually wants to win playing against another team that wants to win. In those cases, it's a quicker competitive mode.

Other times, one or more players on both teams are playing off their main characters and simply don't care if they win or not. That's true sometimes in competitive mode also. But much less often.

It's mostly pride an e-peen measuring. There are better rewards if you finish at higher levels, but it's still just tokens you can use for cosmetic items.

The higher you rank, the better the games should be, but that's a crapshoot.

At the end of each season, you are awarded competitive points based on your rank that go toward golden guns. It's based on your highest rank attained rather than your final rank so you're not missing out on anything.

oh alright thanks

i don't really mess with the items much but i think i can't get a golden gun until 2000 so that makes sense

Stats are also not completely telling in terms of value to your team. I have a strong season w/l as roadhog, but all of my stats are pretty bad relative to other people. I throw a lot of optimistic hooks at smaller targets, because they're worth so much more when they hit. I throw a lot of random right clicks at people on the off chance I get a meaty crit shot kill, rather than focusing on keeping a high accuracy. Whatever I'm doing as him is working to get me wins, but not sexy stats.

accuracy is pretty useless given how much of defending is simply spam into an area. I almost never find myself not firing somewhere
Overwatch (New Blizzard Franchise - FPS ) Quote

if i want to get my accuracy up, i guess i better stop shooting at **** while waiting for the other team/running to the point/pre-firing/spamming at corners etc.

completely meaningless

If you want high acc just spam reins shield when you have no other targets

I mean you should probably be doing that anyways until another target presents itself.

Ya, I mean accuracy really doesn't matter much, which was my point earlier. Oversumo has me at GM in damage, elims, and final blows on roadhog... and bronze in crit hit accuracy, and gold 4 in regular weapon accuracy (with silver in hook accuracy).
