Blizzard loves overbuffing stuff they've been doing it forever.

What do you guys think about 76? Is he OP or is it that he has a low skill cap? My play is almost on all tanks/support but when i get on 76 I feel way to effective compared to any other offensive hero i play.

Rein is obv OP as well. Hate to say because hes by far my most played toon now. Its like if you dont have Rein and the enemy does your screwed. I've had plenty of games where I literally take out the entire enemy team with this dude it just feels wrong sometimes. Also feels like when its Rein vs Rein the team with the better one wins.

I think Soldier 76 is easy to play "well" but is not necessarily low skill "cap."

Compared to McCree 76's probably weaker at random flanking/1v1 duels but he has really good sustain damage and is much much less likely to be totally useless.

Bolded hits the nail on the head. I'd always prefer an unknown teammate pick 76 over McCree.

On an unrelated note, is it me or in this post-patch world are less SR points being rewarded for wins? I went 47-4 w/ four golds last night as a 2800 in a 2720 SR average match after winning the previous game (i.e., no loss streak) and I only got 20 points. Have noticed multiple other instances of getting less points than I was seemingly getting a week or two ago.

you get/lose fewer points as the season goes on because your current rating is more accurate with the bigger sample of games

I got back to 1300 SR last night!!!!! On to 1400! lolme

Started playing with Zenyatta. Love him. My "pat myself on the back" moment yesterday was throwing a discord orb on Soldier, watching him retreat around a corner, charging up my alt-fire, then letting it loose right before he reappears to get a blind kill on him.

My advice for zen is to be proactive with the healing orbs and primarily target your flankers (genji and tracer). It might seem more natural for the default to be on your tanks or to keep it on the person with lowest health regardless of class, but it's always easy to get it back onto those guys well before they are truly in danger of dying whereas flankers go down super quickly. Also soldier Mei and other self healers should be low down your list as well. You want them to heal themselves not to prove a point but in order for them to build their ult more quickly, which is higher impact than yours (at least on attack)

As far as the discord orbs go, at lower levels I would just keep it on whoever I'm shooting at or whoever the team is shooting at (usually hard to tell unless it's someone obvious like an ulting roadhog). In higher levels I just leave it on the support because I trust the team to focus fire those guys down first anyway (unless someone in the other team is very clearly out of position)

Yeah, I've pretty much been doing what you just advised. Thanks for the tips!

I tend to start with the healing orb on whoever jumps out to the front of the fray first. Sometimes it's a flanker, often it's Pharah, other times it's the lead tank. If it's not the lead tank, I try to stay within line of sight as long as possible, but it's usually hard to do with, say, a Genji (plus I don't want to overextend with a squishy like Zen).

Once the fighting really starts, I just try to heal whoever needs it the most AND is in the most vulnerable position OR is most important. If someone is falling back, I don't usually heal them unless nobody else needs it. If another healer is in trouble, I'll heal them, especially since it stacks with their self-healing and I can put it on someone else quickly.

For now, I generally just spam discord orbs if the opposing team is all bunched up. If I can climb higher, I'll try to be more strategic. D-va typically takes the brunt of my discording.

Zen is really fun to play.

All you need to think about is "who is most likely to die first?" with either orb really. Be prepared to have people shout at you for not healing them when you only get them up to 75% or something though.

Always fun to have a widowmaker or hanzo in the back lines with 98% health spamming "I need healing"

I'm watching some of the North American Invitation semis and it's actually quite interesting for a noob like me. For instance, and I'm sure this is obvious for experienced players, but the Pharah player does a great job managing her fuel. When I play Pharah (which isn't often), I tend to just fly around until my fuel runs out, but this player flies, lets go of the gas for a moment to recharge, then keeps flying.

The Roadhog play is pretty amazing, too. I'm bad with Roadhog. Love how, on that map with the pit in the middle, they make concerted efforts to hook players into the pit.

In some rounds, they were running four tanks and two healers.

The meta right now is 3 or 4 tanks with a way overpowered Ana pumping heals into them nonstop.

I love watching great Pharahs, because they're so frequently out of the firing line. It's a real education in positioning.

PS: finished fallout 4. Now I can return to OW.

My current pet peeve: Mercy players that don't use the ****ing damage boost.

Like I'll land a Roadhog hook, be at full health and under no fire from the enemies, and they just keep healing me even though I've got someone coming towards me and am at full health.

Mercy sucks though, so anyone playing her probably isn't very high ranked, and probably hasn't played enough classes to know when it's useful to boost. You're talking about a pretty niche situation too, you have to see it coming, you have to know what's coming and how much damage you do in either state, etc.

Yeah Mercy is so bad, the only critique that player needs is why are they throwing and playing Mercy.

Of course, then there are the times Mercy revives her whole team at the point and wins the game.

I was on some terrrrrrible teams today. The kind where everyone just plays whomever they want without consideration to team comp. One healer, one tank is fun. Useless snipers are great, as well. Needless to say, we lost quickly.

I agree generally mercy sucks but I've had some solo healing mercy hard-carries where I get in tons of heals basically preventing the other team from getting picks and then when they finally push through with ults, getting the first 2-3 kills back in a rez to hold.

I feel like King's Run/ eichenwalde/numbani she is decent because both teams can be in position with long walks back. Also nice lanes to fly back in the action if you die.

Other maps she is useless.

had a good game as pharah and had the enemy pharah say in post-game chat, "F pharah, how do you one-shot and direct hit me every time?"

feels good man

Yeah the more linear/tighter maps Mercy def has a home there, esp in low ranks (I'm around 1800 right now) because with good positioning it's tough for people to get picks on you.

Their was a purple ranked mercy in my game the other day at 1600 on Asia. Not sure if she got carried that high and fell or what. Anyways she spent the entire match flying around with a pharah and damage boosting and they literally destroyed my entire team with just that combo. It was one of the frustrating games ive had.

I'm sure that strat only works at the lower levels but I'd imagine if you que up with a buddy you could get to a pretty good ranking just doing that.
