I recommend starting a game that you dont plan on being your "main save" to get a feel for everything and fiddle around with tactics and stuff.

i still seem to struggle with the iinterface.

-do you guys use hotkeys alot?
- is there a way to list ALL of your teams player (1st, 2nd team + u19) at one screen?
-- i tried doing that via the filters in the players window but it still doesnt list all of them. i did this to quickly compare attributes but i still have trouble with it. it seems so tedious to compare players. always switching back and forth, taking notes. its annoying. im sure there are better ways to do all this. pls help me out.

Just wanted to moan to some one my long term FM 2007 game just ended. I got the sack half way through my eighteenth season with Hereford sitting 17th in the prem in my fourth season there.
I knew my position wasn’t secure but after winning my last game 1-0 against rivals Cardiff I thought id bought myself some time.

If you go the the filters on your squad page and check all the boxes in the top three sections it will list everyone in the organization

what I do when starting a new team is use the above to list all my players, sort them by position and have the assistant reports view on (to see star ratings as a general guideline). Click on players you are interested in, then you can right click on any player, go to scouting, and compare them with any recently viewed player. The toughest part is just starting especially if you are completely unfamiliar with any of the names, it takes me about halfway through a season with a new team to finally be comfortable with who's who on the roster.

I just started a new season with Inter, just to get a good feel of the game before i try to bring a no name into champions league, and after a few games i got a warning message:

Diego Milito and Lucio have problems with the language barrier ( translated ). I was like WTF; half of the team is argentinian and the other half is from brazil. HOW THE HELL CAN THEY HAVE PROBLEMS COMMUNICATING?!?

btw, I made the transition from Fifa Manager 09 to Footy Manager 10, and there is one thing i totally miss: The ability to create a new team from scratch starting from the lowest possible league and work your way up...

haha had the same, bought a french youngster and my assistant told me that I should assign Gallas to help him with english to overcome the language barrier.

I start a season with an italian 3rd leage team and find a super striker... I even have to hold a media meeting etc.

2 games later he breaks his arm
