I think it is a bit tougher overall. I'm definitely not able to score as much as I have in past games.

Re: official football manager 2010 hype thread imo

I'm having the opposite problem, I score a ton (helps having a striker who scored 37 goals in 37 games my first season in the PL) but I concede a lot as well. Playing as Newcastle and barely got promoted the first season, then got taken over before the first season in the PL so I could improve my squad a fair bit and ended 8th but I was the 2nd highest scoring team.

Re: official football manager 2010 hype thread imo

Starting to score with more regularity now, controlling the eredivisie as expected and have generally solid depth. Made a huge signing at the start of the year for Artem Milevskyi, has 37 goals in 43 games this year in all competitions.

Squeaked thru to the first knockout round of champions league but got an unfortunate draw vs barcelona, lost 4-1 at home and still have to go there. Spent 17M on CB Cristian Zapata but I'm gonna need a lot more quality overall before I can compete with those teams.

Oscar Cardozo goal machine for Benfica. Moved to Athletico after 3 years and 4 trophies in Portgual, will be tough to win something in Spain with Madrid and Barca dominating.

Cardozo is sick in this game. PSV signed him in my Feyenoord game and he scored 36 in 29 appearances.

Dont know if this has been mentioned yet, but anyone looking for skins/kits/logos/facepacks, check out www.fmglive.com.

Started as Liverpool, 4 games in, 4 wins, shocking injury list though. Sold Kuyt for 7m and Aurelio for 2.6m. Only signing i have made is Defederico from Corinthians on loan, 2 goals on his full debut

Re: official football manager 2010 hype thread imo

I think the injuries are broken. They changed the offseason condition drop off but if you watch any game on tv where they list the distance covered statistic midfielders simply don't run twice as many kms as the rest of the squad.

This means your mids in FM 2009 always drop to below 70% every match, no matter what. And I still get 1-2 injuries requiring substitution every game. I've already had 10 injuries requiring substitution through preseason (4 friendlies) and 3 regular season games.

I don't understand why they didn't address this issue. I realize they wanted to make it more realistic, but even with careful monitoring of player conditions the best I can do is barely get by with a healthy squad, it just takes all the fun out of the game.

I'm about 60% through my second season and I'm top by 4 points but Inter have 2 games in hand. I doubt I will win the league but my squad is decent now.

Also you definitely know loads about upcoming youngsters. Saviola etc. Knew about all these wonderkids way before people in real life did.

Khouma Babacar the next Drogba. You heard it here first! lol.

Re: official football manager 2010 hype thread imo

I'm over midway through my first season with Man Utd. This is the first FM game I've ever played so didn't want to jump straight to a lower league team though I'll probably do that after a few seasons with United. I bought Balotelli, Gourcuff, Lloris and Moussa Sissoko in the summer along with a couple of kids and I just bought new RM wonderkid Canales in the winter window. I play either 4-4-2 diamond with Sissoko the anchor and Gourcuff the attacking mid or 4-3-3 with three strikers (Rooney, Mario and Welbeck usually, **** Berbatov and Owen the useless humps). I've lost two games so far (one League Cup, one EPL (to ****ing Bolton of all teams)) but somehow am only second in the table due to Chelsea being on epic godmode so far. It's only a few points dif though, I'm confident I'll win it. Just started the CL knockout stages where I beat Lyon away from home 5-2. Then I spent hours hiring and firing my coaches/physios/scouts to where I'm finally happy with the people I have.

In case anyone can help, I need help with my training schedule for Balotelli. He's constantly unhappy about the training load but when I reduce it his overall training progress goes down every month (like five months in a row it went down, only last month did it go back up again). At least some of his attributes are still going up but it's kind of annoying. Anyone know how I should train him? All my other players are fine.
