pre-ordered 2. hopefully here july/aug

This must be what it's like to be Myers Leonard.

Turns out I was 150th globally to pre-order my DK 2 rifts ( I was on the ball with that one).

Ordered 2 they are arriving on the week of the 21st July, and only 10000 globally are going to arrive in July according to official reports.

I thought I was going to use 2 but I'm not, so will be selling one on ebay from the UK if anyone here happens to be interested.

Anyway will report back with my opinions on it when I get to test it out.

According to the announcement, they're going out the week of the 14th, no? Anyway, I ordered within the first hour, so I should be in the first batch. I can't wait!!!

Jealous. I couldn't justify the money when I'm 100% getting the retail unit. I thought my friend who got the first one was going to get it and I could use his but he was thinking the same.

I just couldn't wait. Gaming outisde of VR has been ruined for me to some degree. I had a pretty long wishlist and going into the summer sale and I found myself passing over 75-90% again and again. I didn't buy much at all and I can't even remember if I bought anything that doesn't at least have third party driver support for VR.

lol yeah I don't know if I'd ever go that far. Missing out on a lot being VR exclusive. Plus I wouldn't want to play long games in a headset the whole time.

I don't mean everything. It's more of the 3D action/adventure/FPS kind of games that I just can't get into as much now, and I love that stuff. A year ago, I would have been drooling over something like Destiny. As great as I think that game is going to be, I'm just kind of meh about it. Anytime I play something like that, I always find myself thinking about how amazing it would be in VR. I have just as much fun as I've ever had with strategy/sports/anything competitive, etc.

So many cool little things like this are going to start popping up now that DK2 is shipping.

My 5 and 7-year old kids just watched a video of someone playing Minecraft on a Rift. My 5-year old said he wants it.

That's one thing we can totally agree on.

Wish they'd hurry up and get the consumer version done.

Like right about the time Elite Dangerous is released would be perfect.

The Elite Dangerous beta is ****ing incredible. I just finished my first couple of hours of play and I don't know if I've ever had a better gaming experience than ED combined with the Oculus Rift. Words can't do it justice. It's so beautiful. I'm just completely blown away right now.

It seems like a lot of people who have just gotten their DK2s are now buying into the beta and buying flight sticks ASAP. Even if you don't plan on getting a rift anytime soon, Elite is worth looking into. There are 55 star systems open now which is 38,000 cubic light years, I believe. The full game is going to have 400 billion star systems. Procedural generation ftw. If you have a DK1 or are getting a DK2, Elite is a must have. This has to easily be the leader at this point for killer app when the consumer version becomes available.

Yeah E: D is definitely the game I'm most looking forward to playing on the Rift. I have played it a bit just to see how it feels (non-rift), but have been very careful to not play a lot since I want the full new and unspoiled experience once it's fully released.

If it gets released before the consumer version of the Rift, I'm going to have a very hard time not picking up DK2 (or whatever might be the most recent then). I would much prefer to just get the finished version though.

Second place for 'games I want to play on the Rift' is Euro Truck Simulator 2 - awesome game that should work perfect with the Rift.
