Why is the steam description more valid then words spoken from Sean's mouth? He said you can grief players. No idea exactly what that alludes to but it means interaction in some way with players.

What is much more remarkable is the speed at which some rush to the drama orgy on the slightest pretext.

Its not hard.
This is the only other opinion I can see or agree with. The reason I lean the other way is because that one instance has been attempted numerous times for hours now. You would think it would eventually sync up over the course of hours and multiple attempts.

About 6 hours in. Thoroughly enjoying this game. Every thing about it. I didn't buy it expecting or even wanting multiplayer game.

People getting pretty bent out of shape over the whole multiplayer thing. Rather annoying tbh. The game was never billed as aultiplayer game. The VAST majority of people buying the game don't watch videos from the devs talking about different features. They read steam/PSN store descriptions.

played for a couple hours and already bored and done with it i think. lots of potential though. multiplayer would be awesome.

There are some interesting possibilities for player agency even without ever physically having players meet. Imagine someone at end game with a ton of resources or whatever that can travel huge distances most people can't, peppering clues in random spots based on naming planets/systems/animals/plants and basically creating a scavenger hunt to some far out system no one would ever actually come across. Of course there's probably nothing to put at the end of the rainbow, but the chase might be interesting as long as you don't spoil yourself. Or maybe I'm not understanding how the games works yet.

Finally built the reactor that allows you to travel to red stars. Not going until tomorrow tho since I want the Friday evening to bask in it.

Anyone else screen shooting a lot? I got a billion new desktop wallpapers.

If this is how you see it then we just disagree on what lead up to the release of this game.

To your point, just listen to the first 20 secs of this video and then tell me why you want to make fun of people who simply were listening to what the damn dev head was saying? "it was clear multiplayer was not in anyway the focus"...
Because that's just wanting. The hype for this game was insane and people read into it what they wanted.

The reality of the game is dangerously close to what the developers said the game was, but some people aren't happy about that and want to find reasons to bitch.

A part of the game not working perfectly in one instance on day 1 is about as textbook a definition to "overreaction" as you'll find.

But if you're conspiratorial or just want to whine, it's as clear as the Illuminati signs on our dollar bills...

I completely agree that the hype for this game was redic. And after watching someone on youtube they basically asked how the F did the hype for this game get up so much even after like 6x delays.

I think that's a good question as I really don't remember how this thing got so big before launch.

Because we don't hold people accountable for their anticipation.

With the exception of this multiplayer kerfuffle, the game is basically what was advertised. The cycle is basically:

Developer announces ambitious project
Fans react to information by either not thoroughly listening to devs, or filling in info gaps with their own hopes/expectations
Oh Em Gee. Gonna ve the best game evah!!!

ive heard the PC version is suffering some problems. mostly frame rate issues and a game breaking bug or two.

debating just waiting a bit for the 1st PC patch. id like my 1st impressions to be positive.

FWIW TotalBuiscuit quit streaming it because of terrible performance. On par or worse then the PC port or Arkham knight. PS4 is running good though, hopefully they have an optimization patch coming for PC folk.

Just ran around for an hour.

My starting planet:

An outpost I found

Planet seems to be full of small herbivores, found 4 or 5 different species that are barely taller then the grass then ran across this guy.

At night

There a way to automatically upload screenshots to the web? If not, why.

Not from in game. I wish it would automatically save a .gif of creatures you discover, similar to how they show the creatures on your Discovery page.

I would say there is some hitching but "massive" is overselling it a bit, I've got a decent but not great gaming laptop and it certainly isnt ruining the experience or unplayable
