How the **** you make it past all the crazy monster men past the second shrine at the bottom? Already considering summoning it feels hopeless.

I assume from your earlier post you're running axe as well. Any tips? 50% is my best effort in about 6 tries. She too fast. Fyi there is a third shrine a little closer to her if you haven't found it yet.

Summoning revenants way below your level and crushing them is so much fun.

I am using axe against her but only attacking with square in mid stance. Avoid her attacks, only attack while she's regenerating Ki, and she regens fast. I dodge forward through the electric magic, she's open for a couple good hits there, then dodge back out. I'm not good at Ki pulsing yet. Block the spinning attack. She's also pretty open after she does her kung fu nonsense.

I'm level 21, haven't done the sub-mission yet. What level are you?

I am level 34 and haven't beat her.

I am horrible. This is a blast tho.

Well beat her on the third try after your post pretty easily lol.

Not-So-Pro Trip: Both blocking and dodging are very viable options in this game regardless of build. I didn't realize that since was used to DS where you're usually doing one or the other depending on build. Once I blocked her (which I wasn't really doing at all before) it was pretty easy peasy.

Now I'm gonna be way overleveled for a while lol.

There is no way to pause in-game like in Souls/BB unless of course I missed that too.

You can suspend your PS4 if you have that set to keep games loaded, and probably quick-switch to the dash pauses it too.

This game is pretty sweet but the main character is Geralt of Rivia.

I noticed the similarity.

The level design is amazing. Highly DS inspired, intricate, just beautiful.

Found the next boss!

So this is a must buy? Who is the company behind it? Anyone that worked on DS or just people who were inspired by it?
Nioh Quote

Company most notably made Ninja Gaiden Black - it's a mashup of it and DS but with much more customizabe stuff from what I'm getting so far. Must buy for Souls fans imo.

These rolling fire head things are a massive PITA.

Seconding the "Must buy" status.

Beat the first real boss (Onryoki, on boat) yesterday, similarly satisfying as Cleric Beast two years ago! Fishing village level was huge, excellent design. Game is a masterpiece so far!

very good game. I didn't understand the leveling system and played for probably 4 hours at level 1. was thinking "man i know everyone said this was hard, but god damn." then figured out leveling. game is now hard but not impossible.

Game does a great job of creating tension. you've fought very far in a level but are nearly dead, do you go back to save the experience or try and push on hoping there is a save point close. boss fights where you just need a couple more hits to finish him but you cant survive one.

I also just finished onryoki. took a couple hours worth of trying i think. feels good man.

Also this goes without saying but anyone who gets this and really enjoys it and somehow hasn't played Dark Souls, play Dark Souls at some point.

Finally beat the Ship Boss last night.

Game is so awesome. YOLOing it as Dual Swords weaponry the entire time.

I could do with a little less loot tbh. I also don't quite understand some stuff like equip load. I'd assume your move speed changes when it goes from green to blue.

There's just a lot, a lot of customization options.
