The people demanding an official English release of Mother 3, and furious that Nintendo took so long with Earthbound VC release, are the exact same people who had already pirated them and did not/will not buy them.

N64 and Tickle Me Elmo were sold out everywhere and all the rage in the autumn of 1996. Even bad N64 games like Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey were in artificial demand and often could be seen on shelves for $80-$100.

Well when I was younger I wasn't allowed to get a game system, so I wasn't really sure how long standing a practice this was. My first game console was a GameCube. I was old enough to get a 64 on my own, but I was a broke college student at the time. Anything prior to that I was still living with my parents and they flat out refused to ever get a Nintendo or Sega system. I played some at friends houses of course, but the only time a console entered my house when I was still a kid was when my parents took a family friend up on the offer to let us borrow their NES when my sister broke her leg. You couldn't pry myself or my kid brother off that thing with a crowbar for those two weeks.

It was also the highest selling Wii U game in Europe when it released. GOG and Steam etc proved people will buy things when it's easy, convenient and official.

Nice to see the angry keyboard warriors in moms basement start to show their faces. If it really annoys you or bugs you when someone mentions pi, then maybe a little self evaluation is in order. I was only mentioning it because of the cool 8bitdo snes wireless controller I found.

Not angry at all, just an observation and was responding to the "annoyed posts". Like I said the controller I thought was cool so I brought it up no harm no foul.

The controller is cool and also works on the Switch in case you didn't know. The annoyed posts come from when the NES mini came out people couldn't stop comparing it to the pi and it got really old really fast.
