Well it's certainly cheaper than the one I got, if it works well that would be great for everyone at large.

Managed to snag one of these off of amazon on Thursday. Setting it up now... seems very beautiful. Excited to get into Zelda this afternoon.

Now that I've downed Zelda and Master Blaster Zero I'm not sure what's next on the list....any of the cheap $9.99 games worth it? I've played and beaten Shovel knight so that bundle is a bit less tempting.

That bundle contains a new chapter which you should be able to get separately?

I don't think you can in the eshop but I'll check again later on.

You can buy the new chapter separately. It's $10.

Are you talking a physical copy? I checked the eshop and it was listed at like $25 for the set. I'm probably looking in the wrong spot.

It's on the eshop but the eshop is terrible right now and isn't displaying it on the front page so the only way to find it is to search. I really hope they add categories etc.

Cheers, thanks man. I was sort of plunging through a 2nd BOTW play through after beating Master Blaster Zero....I'll probably pause that and give this a go to pass time until more stuff comes out.

Specter of Torment is fun. If you liked Shovel knight you will like it. I think I'm about halfway through it.

I did have my first Switch freeze happen this morning while playing it. I went to put it in sleep mode and the sleep mode appeared on the right side but the game kept on and I could not get out of that screen trying to use the pro controller or the regular joycons. I ended up doing the 15 second reset. Hopefully it didn't wipe the data when I check later on.

I've done the 15 second reset twice now; so far no issues from that.

I've been having some issues with the left joycon - occasionally it just stops working - several folks seem to have this issue too - http://www.polygon.com/2017/3/22/148...joy-con-repair

So far I've been able to fix that by simply putting the joycons in "charge mode" - attached to a docked console and then simply waiting 10 minutes. No way do I want to buy another controller (yet) or ship the hardware to Nintendo and wait a week for them to fix it.

Finished up Specter of Torment this weekend...it was fun but fairly short. For $10 though I'm sure I'll play it again and use the different powers more in the game. 3 games down....what to play next is the question. I may have to continue to plunge through a 2nd BOTW playthrough to wait for Mario Kart to come out or get another $10 to pass the time.

Nintendo is discontinuing the NES Mini because gosh, these keep flying off the shelves and we can't keep them in stock. It's exhausting! Let's just call it a day.

ROFL, now the people that have been selling them for a profit can buy even more, sit on them for 6 months to a year, and increase their profits even more.

Maybe they are going to add 10 games to it and doable the price based off of the demand.

The games they have on it don't really matter since it's so easy to put whatever you want on there. I only have the full NES library but other people have SNES, Genesis, arcade games and all types of ****.

I want one and was just waiting until I could buy in a store; I don't wanna pay 150 for it

They are seriously the most bizarre company. I can't imagine production costs are too high on those things, how are they not basically just printing money with them? I had planned to get one eventually and divest myself of my antique Nintendo stuff but looks like I'll have to hold onto it for now.

is there any advantage to having one of those over one of the other retro consoles like retron, pi etc.?

Jesus Christ I am starting to lose patience with this console. Yesterday I was forced to do another "15 second reset", but that time it didn't work. The console straight-up would not turn on. Double-checked all my cables and followed all of the instructions on Nintendo's troubleshooting website, and I was very close to shipping the console their way for a fix.

Thankfully I thought I'd try one more "trick" - I figured if the console was stuck in sleep mode, then if I kept it off the dock (and thus not charging), it'd eventually run out of power. Recently turned it back on (while in dock mode) and all is good again.

Lesson: no more sleep mode for me.

Anyone else experiencing any hardware snafus?
