There's definitely a VC, no word on if our purchases carry over. If they don't I think I'm done buying them again. They say you get some VC games every month with the subscription but the wording makes it sounds like you only get them for one month which would be lame.

Implementation of VC is make or break for me this time around. I'm tired of paying five bucks to re-enable purchases from other VCs.

lol wtf is this?

Also, a switch with Zelda installed apparently uses about half the available storage space. I guess flash memory isn't dirt cheap enough for Nintendo.

Also, accessory prices seem crazy high

Yeah the prices of the accessories is insane. It wouldn't be a Nintendo launch if it wasn't full of dumb ****.

Already have one. Doesn't do n64 on up very well

And I sold my Wii U in anticipation of the switch because I didn't think they could possibly do VC stuff any worse.

Time to rename thread, 'nintendo attempts suicide, in slow motion, again (official nintendo switch thread)'. I mean, they don't have enough consoles at release? Have they learned nothing in the last 15 years of failing hard? Not really sure how anyone but the most die hard loyalist with a lot of disposable income could be excited about this.

Super super stoked for Mario, could be the first TRUE follow-up to Super Mario 64.

- Sunshine had the semi-large open worlds but was too heavily island/paint themed.

- Galaxy (haven't played 2 yet) is fine but much smaller worlds and almost no emphasis on exploration.

- This looks like large "old school style" open worlds with variety, awesome. I wonder if projects like Yooka-Laylee helped push them back in this direction.

- I did have fear of it being an endless runner or on rails at first, but don't think that's the case.

- Soooo irritating when people focus on the "NY"/real people aspect of it, being critical of it or whatever. Sure, okay, one of the levels is real-world urban based. It's apparent from the trailer that it isn't the whole game.

Where are you all getting preorders, amazon has been sold out ever since I started looking.

Got mine on Game Stop.

Amazon was my first look, too, and it where I got BotW.

Pricing of the games seems totally off as well. £50 for an upgraded version of MK8? £60 for the new Zelda?! That's the price for a deluxe collectors version that has limited edition figurines or some other such stupid crap.

Does it not come with any games?

1-2-Switch definitely looks like a pack in game, not the type of game you'd pay $50 for.

I figured it was this generation's Wii Sports.

Got last preorder at gamestop for $50 deposit. I'll give this console a chance, and if I get tired of it, sell it in a year.

Got my first preorder from Best Buy, then went to Game Stop the next day after work and was able to get a preorder in. Cancelled the Best Buy one.

Apparently it will be sold separately for £40/$50.

I'll keep checking online daily, but if someone notices a pre order site that becomes available can you please post a link here since pretty much all sites are out at least as of now? Thanks

As cool as the physics were in Galaxy 1 and 2, the lack of exploration and open worlds just made them feel less cool than SM64. The open world design was such an integral part of SM64. Not always pointing to where the star was, but making you explore the world to figure it out was way more fun than in SMG where they just gave you the path to the stars.

Didn't realize they were taking pre-orders at game stop. Want to have one of these on launch day. How long would I have to hang out infront of a best buy to be able to get my hands on one?

Pretty sure every store went through their initial stock of preorders, and even those might require some midnight waits. Check back frequently to see if more open up, or hopefully someone develops a tracker like for the GeForce 10s

I can totally understand it not having any sort of backwards compatibility by default, considering how expensive adding a disc drive and all that would be and the costs are already about maxed out for where they wanna be.

But I think having some sort of Wii/Wii U disc drive accessory you could hook up, like to the dock or something, would be a pretty great idea.

Seems like that would be pretty hard to do with this hardware configuration (I don't disagree, just think it's extremely unlikely)

I'd still love to see some company do a disc reclamation: send in your copy of the game, get the digital version, possibly for a small fee.

No company will for probably the rest of my life, but it'd help keep used copies out of game stop and help keep up their, the game makers', bottom line.

But how would they get you to keep buying the same games?
