Pretty much haven't played a game of HUT since all deals have just flooded the market with tons of NHLers and everyone has 92/92/92+ teams now.

Tuner update today

Quote:
----v1.02----
1) Reduced effectiveness of hip checks to Versus and HUT, previously this was only applied to OTP/Clubs

2) Decreased distance traveled when diving for a poke check because it was too effective in certain situations (applies to all online and offline modes)

BTW I left the team I posted about in here a couple of weeks ago about.. only 4 people signed up and we never had anymore than 2 people online at once. I made the remaining members GM's in case they can get it going.

Badger, sorry I didn't reply to your party invite the other day. I wanted to bang out a couple of quick HUT games before I had to sign off and do some stuff.

Hope we can get some games in soon, I need practice at LD, this is my first season rockin' a right handed shot.

I'm sad Jeebs removed me and blocked me, when he was in the party I couldn't hear his sweet sexy voice. =(

bosox+nutshot

lets get together on xbox, and were going to do a defensive make over. im gonna hook you both with legend2 cards with all +5 boosts. then ill show you the big changes ea made to attributes for defense this year so we can tweek your players to be solid. maybe even talk some defense strat. im gonna be a goalie, and were gonna have our blueline ****ing rock solid. it all sounds super nerdy but i dont care.

offensive defenceman is what all the top defenders are using this year. also height plays a much bigger role. smaller defenders, <6 feet, are the way to go. reason being is to make good interceptions your guy needs to be facing the puck (vision control, left trigger). the taller your guy is the longer it takes him to align himself with vision control. this also effects hits. if you noticed when youre hitting your guy kinda auto locks into the other player, well, the taller you are the harder it is to autolock into a guy cutting accross you.

now the only reason you would ever need a big heavy defenceman is to get hits, and engage players in front of the net. this year, however, speed is the most important variable in making a hit, and engaging is so hard to pull off that intercepting is almost always the better play... listen to this, a nhl developer responded to a guy on the forums saying 6"1 200lbs is too heavy and slow to make hits. sounds crazy, but thats the way this game is programmed. my guy is 5"11 175lbs, and believe me i crush people with hits. so yah, stop ****ing with big defenceman its a waste of your time this year. you need all your stats in d-awareness/pokecheck/HAND-EYE/shot blocking/agility/acceleration.

you listen to me and i promise it will change the way you play defense. your job as a defender is all positional, and the only way to get this is to get a solid skating player with offensive defencemen. also, the bodychecking attribute does **** all this year.

Agree with Dark, although i have kept my guy 6'4 220lbs. But i have high SPD, AGI, BAL, D-AW, PK CHK, HandE, Shot B.

I prob do 3 hits a game at max, the rest is interceptions, poker checks, stick lifts. With the stats me and Dark have mentioned, you rarely trip or get called for a poor stick lift aswell. Most come off straight away!

Tonight will stick my DMan to 5'11 175lbs!

U jelly? It's pretty easy to make a good team. Right now players are dirt cheap. Grind out the 4 star rated tournament. You average about 600 pucks a game if you win a lot. It's also relatively easy to buy/sell cards for profit looking for steals in the AH. I once bought a +5 all for 1200 buy in now and sold for 10k pucks.
