Spawn trapping on highrise and hip-camping on scrapyard were my personal favorites

I have a son in 8th grade that plays a lot of CS:GO.

He talks down on Skype with his friends toward "COD kids." I presume it's more of a PCMasterRace thing than a COD sucks thing, but I still think it's interesting how these things trickle down to the youngsters.

MW2 was my only experience with the Call of Duty franchise, and I thought it was great fun. Every time a new COD game comes out, I hear people bitch about how terrible it is, and I can't bring myself to pay $60 for a reskin.

The problem with loading up MW2 to see if the PC servers are still active is that even if they are, I'm sure I'll just get wrecked by MW2 "purists" who are probably the only people left.

Ive got mw2 as the goat shooter but Im sure some of that is the fact that it happened to be the one out while I was in college and able to play it with friends 5 hours a day

I'd have a hard time giving "best shooter" to anything but a Battlefield game, but the run and gun nature of MW2 was a ton of fun. Both styles are great for different reasons.

I didn't have a bunch of people to play with. I enjoyed dominating FFAs just as much as mowing kids down with a chopper gunner in TDM. I was never good enough to run a nuke though. Actually dropping one was probably a great feeling for those who could string together that many kills in a row.

Noob toob camping on scrapyard was the best. Claymore the bottom of the stairs. Claymore the top of the stairs. Have the loud opponent footstep perk.

Nothing better than launching a blind tube across the map and hitting someone.


The other great map was skid row. Just tube down the alley and into the garage.


I looked on Steam and it only had a few people playing (360 died). Don't know if its worth it. (currently 922 playing)

I do know this was and is my favorite game of ever time. Forgot how many "days played" I had, but it was obscene

people who use snipes or shotguns or claymores or c4 if that was in that game are bad people

C4 was awesome as well. Used that with the silenced MP5/marathon/ninja class

So why does COD suck now? I haven't played since MW3. I didn't like how they removed all the "power positions" and spawned people right behind you all the time.

No power positions meant there was nothing on the map to fight over, just constant "spawn, take 8 steps, go full auto--if you lose, repeat, if you win, repeat.

I think this was more of a CoD4 thing because you got 2 claymores instead of 1, but camping in buildings with good lookout spots (I think I mostly did this on Crash) and popping claymores at the entrances would get people SO MAD. It was amazing.

Black Ops 3 is pretty damn fun. I don't have as much time to game as i used to and hated Ghosts and Advanced Warfare, but am enjoying BO3. I even started watching streams again. The competive scene in this version is pretty good. I watched TheSandyRavage pubstomp last night. Guy's still got it.

So many goofycopters because of those people.

cod4 is being remastered, and released with the new infinity ward game later this year. 10 multiplayer maps, single player campaign, and dedicated servers. PC/PS4/XB1 only.

Wrong thread but I never played the original Modern Warfare and am pretty psyched for the remake, except that as of now you can only get it as part of Infinite Warfare and not a standalone game, though I guess things can change.

MW2 isn't the game coming back.

I haven't played any of these since MW3, I assume MW2 is still when the series peaked? I miss those days.

Just learned there is a bundle of all three MW games for last-gen consoles. Kinda intrigued to go back and play MW2 multiplayer and the original MW campaign. Has anyone actually played since the last round of posting in May?
