Re: MLB12 The Show
I've never changed my baserunning controls so can someone help me..
I am playing DD so how do I tell the guy on 1st to steal if there are runners on 1st and 3rd, etc.. I can't figure it out and I've looked at the controls menu numerous times.. I can never figure out how to get 1 runner to run if there are 2 or more on base..

Aim the left stick towards first base, same as throwing (directional wise) if you use analog. Now you have highlighted that runner. Now hit the corresponding button. Here it would be the triangle for 2nd base. Should feel a little vibrate. You can do this nonstop including when balls are in play. Just make sure you dont have a guy highlighted when they play is ending and you hit X to make it hurry up

I've had this once or twice, can't really reproduce it or figure out when it happens though.

Re: MLB12 The Show
I'm having a REALLY hard time understanding some of the logic behind this game.
As said before, I play analog hitting w/ pulse pitching. I hit on the hardest difficulty on MLB 11 the show w/ analog and had a good amount of success. Did really well with most every hitter.
However, now, I struggle with some hitters. I figured out how to hit with batters who have pronounced strides. But it just seems like some players I CANNOT hit with.
For example, I have a franchise going with the Braves. I realize the Braves aren't the most potent offense in the game, but they have a few guys who have pop in their line up (ie Uggla, Mccann, Heyward vs righties). I do really well with McCann... he has 30 HRs and we're almost at the end of the season. However, Heyward only has 9 HRs. The reason I'm confused is because even when a pitcher lays a ball down the middle, I can't seem to ever really crush the ball with Heyward. I look on swing analysis and it's always "perfect timing" on stride and swing. Same with Uggla. Uggla only had 13 HRs. I hit for decent average with all the hitters, but I just have such trouble hitting for power with some of the players who have decent pop. Another thing that caught my eye, was that with players like Heyward and Uggla who have decent contact /power vs righties... I notice that even when a bad pitcher makes a mistake and throws a meat ball and I take a "normal" swing, the PCI is always way off... even though I use analog without PCI. But even when I square pitches up w/ the PCI it always seems like its only a line drive or hard ground ball.
When I switched to "timing" hitting for a day, all of the sudden players like Uggla and Heyward started hitting bombs. So, I just can't figure out what they changed about analog hitting in this year's version. I start my stride just before the pitcher releases the ball. IDK what else to try... last year's version was much better IMO... unless I'm doing something way wrong.

Re: MLB12 The Show
also, I understand that not every meat ball is going to be mashed out of the park or even hit solid for that matter...
but...
A ball right down the heart of the plate with perfect timing and perfect stride DOES NOT RESULT IN A WEAK GROUND BALL 9 TIMES OUT OF 10. THANKS.

Re: MLB12 The Show
Its very strange, but I have better luck hitting, esp for power, with slightly early stride and perfect timing than I do with Perfect/Perfect

Re: MLB12 The Show
I almost pulled the trigger and bought this with my last check but held out. After reading through this thread (aka this page) I'm slightly concerend. Has this game somehow regressed?
Like, it's obviously still the best baseball game out, and still a true "sim", right? Basically it's still worth every penny...?

Re: MLB12 The Show
Yes, best in the biz. I bitch a bit but I can fix most of my problems with some slider manipulation and difficulty tweaking. Game hasnt regressed, theres always some weirdness to video games. Go buy it.
