That's pretty cool Wolf.

I just basically finished my first castle looking structure. Didn't turn out as I had envisioned it to look, but oh well. Now I need to think of something new to do.

How do you transfer water? For example, let's say I wanted to make a pond, but I don't have a nearby water source. How would I do it?

Make two buckets and fill them both. Dig a 2x2 hole in the ground. Dump one bucket in one corner and the other bucket in the diagonally opposite corner. This will make an infinite water source.

You can pick up lava with a bucket but destroys the bucket after one use. You can block off lava however by placing any kind of block in it's way. Iron is very useful imo cause it makes awesome tools. You dig much faster and they last longer.

also if the lava doesnt fill out the whole (imaginary) block it occupies you can place any normal block there and it replaces the lava.

edit: like this:

actually i just found out you can replace any block of lava with a normal block. the lava will just flow around it but if you do it smart you can probably completely remove it (probably except for the infinite lava sources; those that dont "flow" on the surface).

i built my own lava lamp.

Kind of lost my direction on this game. Don't really know what to do next.

I fixed up my castle a little more so it looks better. Made a little fountain, started a small garden, went on a exploration and ran into an underground water system and lava, found a ton of gold, iron, and redstone.

Don't really see the point in the redstone...?

I put it on Peaceful so I don't have to deal with the monsters.

I guess I could just build another structure? Maybe something more elaborate? Maybe build another section onto my castle? I don't know. I feel like I want to do something cool and fun, but I suck at being creative.

How exactly do you do that? That's kind of what I just did. Went and found a cave, turned into a dead end, I dug a mineshaft, ran into another open area/dead end, dug down some more and found the water and lava. Then I dug down some more and hit bed rock.

I also stood in one spot, looked at the ground, jumped, and placed a block underneath me to see how high I'd go. Only goes just a tad above the clouds.

Decided to build a giant cross. Why, I'm not sure since I'm an atheist. Just wanted something giant to build.

Just dug straight down for quite a while in my mine shaft and didn't find a damn thing the whole way down, not one piece of iron or coal.. Then I finally hit an opening and it was the jackpot, had no monsters but I lit it all up anyways, came back up with 143 red ore(at least I think that's good).. There is also a good amount of lava down here so I think I have a new area to focus on and try and find some diamonds

Made all the digging worth it

Just a word of warning. The bottom of the world is not entirely made of that undiggable rock.

I fell out of the world

I've quite enjoyed the music for the game. The Minecraft page links to the musician's blog, who in turn links to torrents for a lot of stuff he's put out, if anybody else is interested.

I saw a good way to mine for ores, during day light, just dig straight down. The sun will light up the line all the way down. If you find something, just dig it out until it runs out, then keep going down.

The only problem is if you run into lava. I did, and died. Fortunately I put most of my inventory in my chest before I did it so I only lost a few shovels, picks, and lights. Nothing major. To get out you just jump and place a block underneath you.

I came up with an awesome idea tonight, did some design planning and started working on the location with digging out the dimensions. If all goes as planned it's going to be awesome. It is going to take me a lot of time so no idea when I'll finish. Hopefully it turns out just as good as I'm thinking.

Finished the major part of my "project." I have to say I'm extremely proud of the way it turned out. I'm still working on the minor details, but the major part of it is pretty much completed. Can you guess what it is?

I'd say it took me between 12-15 hours to complete, maybe longer, I didn't really keep track. I really enjoyed working on it. I built it from the top down. I don't know if that was the most efficient way, but with my planning it was the only way it made sense to carefully construct it. Plus I had to do some major excavating to clear out the land.

It is 64 units high and 39 units wide at the bottom. There are 2 blocks positioned vertical on the center of the top, which the top one touches the exact highest point that this game will allow you to build. The bottom is at what would be considered sea level.

I had it on Peaceful so I didn't have to deal with monsters. I died 6 times from falling. I have to say I felt some anxiety and was nervous when I was working on the blocks at the extreme high levels. Every time I would fall to my death it felt like my heart would skip a beat from just the shock of falling from such a high height. I sort of have a fear of extreme heights when I feel like I'm vulnerable to falling.

My plan from here is to dig out the land around it so that it isn't so confined. I'm in the process of laying down dirt on the floor, hoping that grass will grow. I'll probably put a fountain in if I can think of a cool way to do it.

I hope you like it!!!

Day shot from one of the highest mountains in my terrain. You can see my first castle and my weak attempt at recreating the Sphinx. I forgot that sand falls to the lowest level so my plan fell through. I might still work on it, but I put it on hold when I thought about doing this:

Tried to get a shot showing how high it really is, with the clouds passing through. This particular cloud was lower than usual:

Night time shot. Was trying to wait for the cloud to pass, but it was a huge cloud:

View from inside trying to capture how massive it really is:

I played for like 7 hours today. I've basically hollowed out the inside of a mountain and made a pretty sick lair. Constructed a huge bridge spanning a sizable water gap. I want to try building a house from scratch instead of hollowing something out.

I was a major lego kid, so this game is the end of me. What's the status on a 2+2 server?

This is probably my next plan of attack as well.. Was a huge lego geek as well growing up..

I'm always like "I need more wood" when it's day time, then I go back to my supply chests to put it aside for storage and realize I have like 8000 blocks of wood, I need to stop collecting resources other than iron, which I can't seem to find much of
