Are you capable of locking a container?

AK,

If there was no ability to lock chests then i might have some sympathy for your viewpoint. But as is you just made a simple mistake and now you want to blame everybody else for it.

It's just a game and normal societal rules don't apply. The people on the server have to make up their own ettiquette.

I'm not blaming anyone for anything but the person who walked up to a chest that wasn't his, filled with items that weren't his, and stole them, for being a thief. Nor am I asking how I could have avoided having my items stolen. Nor your sympathy. So stop repeating yourself, you fool. I have clearly stated that it did not occur to me to lock my chests and that I did not, at the time, remember that I could do so. I didn't ask for a dissertation on how to lock a chest or your moral views on what are appropriate standards of conduct in minecraft. I don't even really care about my stuff or this game, I'm just am bothered by the wanton lack of regard for others that the self-absorbed ******s who play this game have. I am done here. Have fun in blockland, losers.

I'm sure we're all looking forward to your tutorial on how a minecraft noob is supposed to tell an unmarked player placed chest from an unmarked game-generated placed chest.

Link it once you've finished it please.

"have fun in blockland, losers" is a great closing line from an idiot who is ragequitting bc of a few items in a blockland chest

I think we should ban everybody.

multiplayer > singleplayer

for the most part we enjoy seeing what eachother are up to, so after you've had some time to cool down it'd be nice to see you come back.

take care man.

That is if you don't get banned.

Could someone link me a thread (the definitive thread?) about the FTP blowout or whatever just happened? I've been out of the loop in terms of poker for a while now...

edit: Also I'd really appreciate light grey wool / wool / ink sacs / bone meal, if anyone has spare.

Meh. Multiplayer is kind of not fun. I spawned in some kind of town, and it's cool seeing all the stuff you guys have created (lol Tetris), but when it gets down to mining time, I want to be in virgin area. So far, I've dug down like four wildly different spots, and each time I've run into a previously dug out mine or torched-up cave.

PS: Not sure why I'm seeing so much exposed iron left un-mined in these explored areas. Are you guys so "uber" you don't care about iron, or is there some kind of constant ore-spawning mechanism in multiplayer?

I'm sure people leave iron because they think they have enough and just can't be asked. I always tell myself during long mining trips "you can never have enough iron/coal" but even then it's a drag mining every single block of exposed iron/coal

ddubois - explore out a bit from town and you'll be fine most likely

I've heard tale of there being pre-dug out dungeons in the game.

I didn't understand it much.

There are abandoned mines all over now, so just finding a lit up dug up cave does not necessarily mean it's done by players.

Abandoned mines can be recognized by lots of wood "arches", cobwebs and minecart-tracks all over. And, unfortunately, usually tons of cave spiders...

I found a pig spawner in one of the abandoned mines.

I'm guessing that the best thing to do in terms of resource collection is to dig deep to like 8-14 level, and then to look for a cave there (since caves have more resources than random)? Keep in mind that diamonds will be in veins that are sometimes diagonal and so you have to clear around them to recover all of them most of them?

Do caves actually contain more resources than normal or does it just appear that way because you can look through more surface area at once? Regardless, it would seem that it's a much faster way of collecting resources.

caves don't contain more resourses than normal just you see more surface area
Minecraft Quote

Right on. My argument about faster (the digging already having been done) seems valid, though, but good stuff. I think the most efficient way of mining is to just dig lines that are 2 spaces apart, to make out surface area per dig. I'm curious about removing all dirt that you encounter though, because you can remove dirt quickly and therefore it seems like a good time per surface area investment. I guess the argument against removing dirt is that it's likely to border on dirt, though, so mining lines still seems best.

Caves >>> your own mining in terms of fun though.

11 is the 'lava-level' so stay at 12 to (mostly) avoid digging straight into lava.

Oh yeah, I found one of those. I forget where now.

Trying to make a bed so I can move my spawn point, but damn, are animals set to spawn super low on this server or something? I can run around a vast area of grass (with weeds, does that matter?) for 5 minutes and not see any animals. Makes getting food a real pain too.

It depends on what biome you're in - sheep are usually not that hard to find if you're in the right biomes. I think the best option for food is to grow crops and make bread though - hunting pigs for food gets boring pretty fast.

I've got just a few rows of crops and make much more bread than I need from them without having to spend much time harvesting.
