got a friend hosting a server and there is 6 of us or so and we've been building for the past 3-4 days...have a giant pyramid, a clock tower, 2 huge castles, a canadian flag, a bunch of underground tunnels and houses, and of course giant pokemon and mario characters! this game rules

they talked about this on Invisible Walls. Guy has apparently made over a million bucks from this game that he made by himself. Pretty cool.

Seems suspicious imo. Cab't see how he sold 100k copies of an alpha.

Then again, dwarf fortress got 16k $ of donations in april.

It's cheap, and catches you early so people just impulse buy it.

Also, it's been hyped like crazy by some of the true video game nerds of our time.

I'm looking to make a server but am confused..downloaded the file from minecraft.net and what I get is a ****load of .class files and I'm not sure what to do with them. Any ideas?

wish i wouldnt have bought this game last night. played for almost 6 hours straight. very cool/fun game but not looking forward to how much time i waste on it!

there are some tutorials on the offical minecraft forums. Sounds like you downloaded the .jar file. this is NOT just a rar file it is a runnable java app (u need java, and it needs to be in your path to work in windows)
you can download the .exe version and adjust a few settings in the server.properties file it will create and it should work.

or just join my server!
