Re: Minecraft

Seems suspicious imo. Cab't see how he sold 100k copies of an alpha.

Then again, dwarf fortress got 16k $ of donations in april.

It's cheap, and catches you early so people just impulse buy it.

Also, it's been hyped like crazy by some of the true video game nerds of our time.

there are some tutorials on the offical minecraft forums. Sounds like you downloaded the .jar file. this is NOT just a rar file it is a runnable java app (u need java, and it needs to be in your path to work in windows)
you can download the .exe version and adjust a few settings in the server.properties file it will create and it should work.

or just join my server!

i'm not sure what's crazier: that he took the time to do that or that it's even possible.

Re: Minecraft

I don't know what's going on with this game, but that 16 bit ALU thing is absurd. Do people not have lives outside of this game? It seems like it could go down in history as the biggest time sink ever.

I'm impressed by it, but there is zero chance I'll ever play this game. I'm afraid it will eat my soul or something. Good lord.

Re: Minecraft

How long would something like that take to create? I have to imagine the answer should have been "forever," but he seems to have done it in shorter time.

Great PA comics there. Wow.
