Hi all, me and megloooo (2p2 name) have been playing Minecraft a lot since alpha. We have just started a new server and are looking for people to help us build some stuff. We have, at the moment, only built a few things. A cathedral, western town, railway etc... We have today started work on building a space centre with rockets, mission control and a bunch of other stuff.

Basically we are looking for people to join the server with us, help with our project or feel free to start your own. If you are interested in joining then pm me and I can add you on skype. We play most days it would be great to get a decent server going with other 2p2ers so contact me if interested.

I've gotten more entertainment value out of The Yogscast on youtube, then anything in a long time. Minecraft is a fun game, I dont know if I have the patience for it, but I bought it just to support the cause.

I've seen a few of the Yogscast videos.

The kid with the high pitched voice that goes AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH makes me want to strangle kittens.

I can't watch any more specifically because of that.


Minecraft doesn't require patience. It's like playing in a sandbox as a kid.

I almost had to quit watching because of this exact "issue". It is really annoying. The rest is so good it's worth struggling through it though and you get numb enough to kinda stop noticing/caring about the 'aaaaaaaaaaaaaah's so much after about 80 episodes or so...

U built a mob spawner for 1.4? I tried to build one and it went crazy slow. Spent a long time building that f'n thing. Read that most people's mob spawners stopped working in 1.4. Havent played since that.

Built it 1-2 months ago. Worked good until I f'd it up, didn't feel like fixing it so i tnt'd it.

1.5 out. Weather, achievements (that seems super lame) but they made some changes to the graphics engine and now I can play on "far" with no lag. Pretty damn awesome.

It appears to get achievements to work/clear in multiplayer you have to log into single player first and do the first one (open your inventory).

The graphics changes are huge. Game works so much better now.

That's one that thing always turned me off about Minecraft, the fact that even on a super high end computer, I couldn't play MP on anything but "normal" due to memory leaks and crashing.

My son will be super excited about the update, and I'm sure I'll be playing some minecraft tonight.

Hey, I saw on his blog that they also added a "booster rail" and a "detector rail". Friggin super awesome!! FYI, booster rails are made with gold. Finally a good use for it.

cuz its f*ckin awesome? heck i quit playing the game 6 months ago and i still check this thread every couple days just b/c i think the game is so cool.

To fill the time you used to spend playing poker on your PC.

Also it's just really fun, the possibilities of what you can do are endless but the slight chance of dying and losing all your stuff adds a bit more to it than simply a building random **** game.

Is it more fun to play SP or MP..?? Do yo need to play SP to get things u might need in MP..??

You never even have to open SP if you don't want to, nothing transfers to your multiplayer server anyway. Couldn't hurt to dick around for a bit in SP I suppose but if you join a server with a friend you will pick it up veryyyy quickly and the world is so big you can always go play around on your own somewhere that won't both anyone.

Suprised noone mentioned todays update. Statistics/achievments are cool as far as seeing all the stuff you've done, also I liked the change in scenery when it started to rain.

After playing for a while on "far" with a 64 bit texture pack, the game did start to lag again. Still much better than before, but not perfect either.

The achievements piece is just pointless and lame to me. Almost flies in the face of what I really like about the game. (it's open endedness). Also it just isn't that well done yet. Seems tied to computer, and not account, has issues with SP and MP. Meh.

Stats are cool

Weather seems interesting- my previously tropical area got snowed on, and I'm not sure if it's ever going to go away without shoveling, which is a bit annoying.

this game is amazing havent had so much fun in a while made a place that looks like a house from outside but in reality is a place where the neverending fall happens, people get mad though

I think it can be a good system for those who play it for the first time and want to discover how to make stuff for themselves though. Knowing what you can make makes it at least possible to speculate on how to make it whereas without it, you're forced to check the internet to find out what there is.

Not a big fan of achievements in general though.

yeah no idea how I totally missed that, anyway I think it's a pretty good update even though it has totally boned the server I play on somehow
