Some ridiculous price increases depending on currency for mc - most games tend to get cheaper when they've been out for 5+ years rather than have significant increases.

Then again - pretty much the entire world already has it.

If I'm already running an older version of MC for mods is there a reason to get the Windows 10 version?

The windows 10 version is a Windows 10 port of the Pocket Edition game. And is free for all owners of the java version.

Oh! I forgot there was a thread for this.

Is there any easier way to add mods that aren't compatible with a certain version than deleting mc, repairing it, and then downloading the corresponding version of forge? If I want to use mods do they have to all be compatible for the same version?

Nice!

I assume survival? How's the game going?

I'm starting a new Windows 10 Edition world. I love how fast the rendering is.

I made a lot of what I assume must be standard newbie mistakes, mostly based on getting lost.

The first few times I died and lost a lot of stuff, I restarted in frustration.

I'm now on world 5 and made my first home base in a place I can't possibly lose:

I'm currently working on a farm with a sort of hobbit house in the side of a hill.

I'm always impressed with how beautiful a world Minecraft can create.

One of my favorite gaming moments ever was the feeling I had deep in a cave/mineshaft system, completely lost with a bag full of loot. The adrenaline from fighting spider spawners to the relief of finding the exit is unmatched.

It looks like you're doing great so far!

It can be worth it to scale a mountain and put up a well-placed torch so you can find your way back.

We just built an enormous treehouse in our game. More like tree high rise. Makes a good visual landmark. Maps help too.

My home base, which currently consists of a shack and a lot of torches.

I prefer playing with JourneyMap installed so I can set waypoints to bases. Cleaner than setting paths of torches all over the place.

do you even put up tons of signs in your mineshafts with arrows pointing to the way out?

gawd!

Strip mining baby! I do regularly get lost in abandoned mines and dig head banger stairs to the surface...

just got back from my first major mining expedition with 9 diamonds and 4 emeralds

that's a great amount of diamonds. Enough for a pick axe and then an enchanting table once you get the obsidian for it

I've never found emeralds.

I've swam up underground waterfalls up past the ocean floor before. You need a good fast start to make it without running out of air.

I see Microsoft announced some sales numbers. Minecraft to date has sold 107 million copies (23.5 million java).

Top selling game? Candy Crush has sold 550 million... lol

I guess there's room to grow!
