Does anybody have this game? It looks so incredible, I've been watching some 'Let's Plays' on YouTube and it looks amazing.

This does look pretty cool despite the graphics. I guess the guy that posted the youtube video you linked has a lot of followers, they've currently crashed the minecraft site w/ all the traffic.

Yeah he has over 200,000 followers, he's usually a Call Of Duty commentator.

That looks like a lot of fun, found this vid on youtube where someone has made a massive replica of the earth.

Btw, for people who like making stuff in gams, get Gmod, which is made with the Half Life 2 source engine, and allows you to create any building or contraption you can possibly imagine. Like here someone has made an underwater base. Or an Apache. Or a colossal walking cathedral. Just thought I'd mention it for those who haven't seen it, it's awesome.

As for Minecraft, how much does it cost to get the updated version with the better monsters?

Bump, has anyone bought this yet? Thoughts?

I find it pretty addicting, but there isn't much to do after you have built a keep or a random building you like. After a while, you are only going to mine and mine and mine and mine and build a pickaxe and mine and mine and mine. And after all that mining, I haven't even found a single diamond ( or other rare mineral ) yet.

Finding the random cave to explore is pretty fun, but the problem is that those caves are random: sometimes they are there, sometimes not. And it's not guaranteed they are awesome.

Today Imma simply leave my castle and go search for a cave to explore, in search of those eluding dungeons or a rare mineral. If I die, gg.

It's addicting as hell once you start spelunking. In the first cave I found I've died a few times after collapses and drowning myself (lol). I spent most of my time exploring above/below and building a glass fortress w/ a garden and the beginning of a mine shaft. I bought it yesterday and played for a solid 10 hours

Even for an alpha game it's still polished enough to enjoyably play. I figured I'd buy it now before it goes to beta and the price goes up.

awww c'mon...

"oh cool iron! oh cool gold!" as soon as i pickaxe the last gold tile, boom, I hit a lava pool and lava flows out of the mine I just made. Dead.

how do you build stuff here? 'B' doesn't do anything?

I guess you can't in this version. It's only a small variant of the real game.

Multiplayer survival mode with crafting... yummm

I watched a couple of videos of a "Lets play (and explain) Minecraft" series, but it only explained the options/modes, and did not explain to me at all the allure of this. It seems more liek a map editor than a game. I don't get it.

Is this for real?? What the **** is going on in this game?? How is it even a "game"? Killing cows and collecting wood? wtfffffff
