Re: Mass Effect 3
New multiplayer DLC coming out in one week. The new classes look awesome.

Re: Mass Effect 3
Hmm, maybe I'll pop ME3 back in the disc tray then. It's been a while. Honestly I had just gotten bored with the repetitiveness of the MP. New classes (maps too?) should inject some life into the game though, or so I hope.

Re: Mass Effect 3
Yeah, I hadn't played as much either, really, esp. since the rocket glitchers have taken a lot of the fun out of things, too. But the new classes look really cool, at least according to the leak. All humans. The adept has dark channel and throw, (and something else that will hardly matter) which sounds like it'll be nerfed within two weeks, but it could be amazing. The infiltrator is essentially Kasumi/phantom hybrid, with a sword, shadow strike, and electric slash. The engineer has arc grenades, homing grenades, and can deploy a supply pylon that, guess what, supplies grenades. Kaboom! The vanguard has a sword as well, a biotic slash, and a "phase disruptor," that hopefully would be an awesome primer for a charge detonation. The solider packs Multi-Frag Grenade, Missile Launcher, Devastator Mode, and a T5-V battlesuit which I guess replaces their health and fitness. It sounds like they are slow but durable tanks in it. The only one that seems lame is the sentinel, which packs snap freeze, energy drain, incinerate, and an "omni shield" they can use at least during heavy melee if not more often. Hopefully snap freeze is considerably cooler than cryo blast and the shield borders on guardian territory. Otherwise, this class may suck. The others all look really fun, however. Personally, I want the adept.
But yeah, there are 3 new guns and 1-3 new maps.
Also, today, the Krogan and Batarians got a bunch of buffs, strengthening powers, increasing durability, and perhaps most importantly removing some if not all of the stuns that plagued them given their lack of a roll. Plus, they released the prothean particle beam (which may actually suck, but it's there). Bioware is still putting a surprising amount of effort into this game, and the multiplayer, repetitive as it is, keeps drawing me back. I need to take my Kroguard for a spin again and get him back to 20.

Re: Mass Effect 3
I play the odd session. Recently had a friend playing as an Asari, me as a Justicar and a random with one of the newer Human Vanguards, it was awesome, just explosions going off every second - 22 mins on Gold without a single missile being used.
New ones sound interesting. Dark Channel when everyone is bottlenecked together should be fun.

Re: Mass Effect 3
Dang, I was about to try out the new characters, guns, and platinum mode, but they take the servers down for the night.

Re: Mass Effect 3
Platinum is disgusting. Good to get a challenge I guess and it'll feel very satisfying to beat it but jesus.

Re: Mass Effect 3
oh they have a platinum now? they should have done that the first time around instead of just making gold harder.

Re: Mass Effect 3
Dude, the new N7 Fury adept is disgusting. Dark channel might not quite be as good as reave (area > moving to a new target), but geez, DC+throw are the fastest biotic explosions in the west. I'm not totally sure what to make of annihilation field yet, but it almost doesn't matter.

The most disgusting part is that it's nothing but missile glitchers.

Re: Mass Effect 3
The only thing to miss when using the Fury is being able to hurl warp around corners, but hey, instant dark channel >> things dodging your warp. Also, you can ****ing teleport through walls. And no, that's not a hack.

Re: Mass Effect 3
Annihilation field is nutso. It automatically primes targets for explosions so you can just run up to them with it on and spam throw for instant detonations.

Re: Mass Effect 3
Yeah, I get it, but it gets me killed, too. It doesn't look like the field penetrates cover, no?

Re: Mass Effect 3
Just finished the Leviathan DLC. Not a ton of combat, but the entire mission is pretty suspenseful and has a nice setup. I'd say everyone should play it, although the implications for the overall storyline are a little bit of a head-scratcher

Oh, I didn't know there was new single player DLC. Thanks for the bump.

Surely there will be more ME, but after fudging this storyline up enough times now, they'd be playing it much safer with a prequel focusing on something along the lines of the Humans rise to prominence, without the need to get too entwined in Reapers, Star children, etc!
