**** i cant seem to find any ways to get inside without eating anti airs or specials with decent range T_T
(ill probably run x23/wolverine/sentinel online)

honestly there is little timing to basic combos, most of them you can mash out (i.e. chain them very quickly, like every L -> M -> H -> S -> j.M -> j.M -> j.H -> SUPER combo

look up combos on shoryuken.com or just fool around in training mode w/whatever characters you're using until they become second nature

today I stopped caring and learned to love the pipe

I've been getting stomped by repetitive ranged attacks because my characters can't jump across the screen. I still take damage from blocking and I just auto lose.

I also can't figure out how to combo correctly.

how to get the first hit in a game? My first hit rate seems to be 0%

14 games won/35 games lost on ranked

i dont think this game will be near as competitive as street fighter, top tier characters are already out there, comboing is too easy and random supers seem to do too well.

In my first 50 games I haven't seen one arthur, MODOK, and quite a few others. There's a ****ton of dantes, doggies and weskers

+ the fact that online connection is terrible, after 5 minutes of failed matchmaking you get someone that's so laggy you time out with both having 3 characters left.

It's too early to decide who is top tier and online connection is flawless for me so far with close to zero lag and instant matchups. I was dreading the online experience based on certain reports like yours, I guess you live in a sparsely populated area of the world and have a slow internet connection?

Everyone was saying Sentinel is overpowered and then Wong showed you can decimate him using Akuma's assists and Wolverine. I think it will take a while before it becomes clear who the top 5-6 characters are.

the reason they are high tiered now is that all those characters are very easy to learn (very easy hit-confirmable combos), plus they were in the previous game so many people already know them very well

i mean its so easy to play sentinel right now because he has high health, does high damage, and has super easy combos (you can pretty much spam crouch M until you see it hit, then get that easy S -> j.M -> j.H -> j.S -> rocket punch xx hyper each time)

but once ppl start exploring and learning more with the other characters, youll definitely see them being considered high tier. pretty much every one has high potential, like hsien-ko, wesker, spencer, modok, dormmamu, etc

sentinel will still always be top tier though. just cos j wong beat him doesnt mean much, he's justin wong after all.

on that level up stream from last wednesday i was really impressed by clakeyd's team tron / x23 / morrigan.

i also think theres a lot of potential in centering a team around dark phoenix

right now im running amaterasu / dante / haggar, dante is just pure style character rofl his combos are so flashy

also rank seems to mean very little like right now im only 45-45 and ive trashed people with like 60-10 records and gotten killed by people with 30-90 records. i get a lot less lag almost zero than there was in ssf4 which is awesome

if random supers are working v you maybe you should stop mashing rofl

Do you have to get a stick to play this game well? It seems like triangle and "x" is probably impossible with a thumb.
