I have drafted some decks I thought would be really good only to get blown out in the first round. Obviously my play mechanics are far from optimal, so I was hoping someone wanted to just run some AAC draft decks against each other. I save them every time so I have a lot of options. Today I tried a mass unearth deck that I thought would work out pretty well, but got smoked by hasting devour dragons and flaming death dragons.

I'm interested, don't have any drafts saved so I'll have to draft a couple times first
I'm not great, but around 1750 online

Re: Magic: The gathering Online
So I'm probably going to be playing (B/W) Tokens at Regionals.
Right now my sideboard looks like this
3 Burrenton Forge Tender
3 Wrath of God
3 Wispmare
2 Head Games (Identity Crisis)
2 Elspeth
2 Puppeteer Clqiue
Aside from Identity Crisis what other new/unexpected sideboard cards should I be looking at? I'm expecting to face tokens or Cruel Control about 50-60 percent.

Raptor, you should post decklists and interesting picks. Like Your 1st and 2nd picks are xxx and yyy, then your 3 pack has a, b, c, d etc.
|
I will start saving the order in which i pick things. This is what i used today, and I thought it would be good but apparently not. I will also add notable side board cards.
2 Dragscape Zombie
1 Blister Beetle
1 Thunder-Thrash Elder
1 Hissing Iguanar
1 Brackwater Elemental
1 Parasitic Strix
1 Viscera Dragger
1 Skeletal Kathari
1 Scourge Devil
1 Corpse Connoisseur
1 Bloodpyre Elemental
1 Undead Leotau
1 Sedris, the Traitor King
1 Executioner's Capsule
1 Yoke of the Damned
1 Goblin Assault
1 Dark Temper
1 Blightning
2 Suicidal Charge
1 Cruel Ultimatum
1 Armillary Sphere
1 Rupture Spire
1 Grixis Panorama
3 Island
5 Mountain
7 Swamp
Sideboard possibles
1 Brackwater Elemental
1 Undead Leotau
1 Molten Frame
1 Ridge Rannet
1 Kaleidostone
3 Resounding Scream
Thoughts? I felt this would work out relatively decently, but I got roflstomped. Keep in mind my play is pretty weak, so this may not be the best sort of deck for me, but I wanted to experiment.

Re: Magic: The gathering Online
Your cpu automatically saves all your drafts in order you drafts as well is what is in the pack. There is a website that can load the files linked earlier in this thread.

Re: Magic: The gathering Online
I think suicidal charge is a sideboard card mostly, not a huge fan of undead leotau but with connoisseur its fine imo
I've never played goblin assault and haven't been impressed with it when I've faced it, maybe if you had like 3bone splinters or voracious dragon that can make use of the tokens
Sedris+Bloodpyre is nice, ultimatum is really nasty to recover from so you can def win some games, but I'd expect there to be 2-3better decks in the pool

I think the blue in this deck is really unnecessary.
Cruel takes UU, and U is basically your splash. Brackwater elemental is OK turn 3 but usually bad. Sedris is obv OK as is strix.
Cut brackwater and Cruel and probably 1 island, play 2 of Leotau/Rannet/Molten Frame

Re: Magic: The gathering Online
oh i forgot about Sedris, you have to play Rannet with him, those cycle guys become really good then
imsa he has sphere, spire and a panorama, and Cruel is gamebreaking the majority of times its cast I don't mind it

I guess, but brackwater for rannet for sure.
I'd be more interested in having some good pick discussion.

Re: Magic: The gathering Online
changing suic. charge for the ridge seems good. then i would take out the 3/2 flier or the second suicidal for something cheaper, the second brackwater most likely, or molten frame. brackwater is super good in both offense and defense and 6 blue sources are enough to support all the blue spells.
this deck looks a bit too slow, you definetely need cards like magma spray or the black one which destroys the smallest creature in play, at least for sideboarding. if you go second you can get rough times and there are many cards in the deck if drawn together that cant stand a fast start from the opponent, like sphere, goblin assault and all the expensive stuff.
taking out cruel is insane you were kidding right kid?

I haven't played the format much yet so def. don't know too much about the environment, but just by looking at the decklist I think I see some of the problems.
You seem to have too few creatures, and not enough of the "extra" spells are removal. 13 creatures might be enough in some decks but I see only 2 good and one so-so (Yoke) removal. Your deck would definately benefit from a couple of more creatures, esp. since Brackwater is a one-shot deal. In this deck I think I actually keep the Brackwater in since the creature count is so low. I think I replace Goblin assault with the other Brackwater and 1 Suicidal Charge with Ridge Rannet straight away.
Since you have Cruel I think 1 Suicidal charge is enough? This deck absolutely don't want block anything and sucidal charge is only in there as a finisher right?
The mana curve also seems a bit off. I really really really would like to see some more 4-drops, basically you will be stuck a couple of turns putting out 3-drops to your opponents 4-drops, and none of your 3-drops are that great. Just a Hill Giant or Infectious Horror or something. Your mana-fixing is good but there is no acceleration unless you hit Armillary Spehre early.
If you want to test some draft decks, feel free to hit me up on Modo (s/n Powermind) or PM me here.

Just seems sorta silly to be playing a UU spell on 6 blue sources, I guess if it resolves its like good and stuff though.

Re: Magic: The gathering Online
So I randomly entered a sealed event, 3 ALA 3 CON. I have no idea at all what I am doing. All these cards are new to me. Here's what I have and what I built... did I do anything close to the right thing?
Tell me quick and I can do better in round 2
