Re: Magic: The gathering Online
I've been the opp on quite a few streams recently, been playing waaaaaay too much
other ideas for the deck would be splashing, there's some combo deck that runs death's shadow/fling/phyrexian unlife, I imagine unlife and leyline are both interesting options (I guess witchbane orb if I didnt wish to splash). Or possibly raven's crime since I don't really want more than 3 lands.
and on the edit - tarmogoyf doesn't play that well with tombstalker

Re: Magic: The gathering Online
I lost to Bing Luke for t8 of MOCS yesterday. If I had had a bye I think I would have played better in round 10, it was an intense and super close g3.

Re: Magic: The gathering Online
What is the best legacy deck for the upcoming SCG thing in Cinci this weekend. I live pretty close and might drive up and play it. I have only played 5 games lifetime with legacy. I have the cards to make any deck. I have b/w stoneforge put together but don't love the idea of playing it.
any awesome decks?

Re: Magic: The gathering Online
The best decks in legacy are invariably combo. The problem is that you have so few games in legacy that you won't have a clue on how to sideboard or what to counter, and picking up a combo deck without significant practice is suicide.
Just take whatever you find fun.

I like RUG Delver a lot, but I've always been a tempo player.

Re: Magic: The gathering Online
Split the finals of the launch event for a box and a half. Deck was bonkers.
Land:
1x Evolving Wilds
1x Haunted Fengraf
1x Forest
7x Plains
7x Mountains
Gold:
1x Huntmaster of the fells
Red:
1x Balefire dragon
1x Brimstone volley
1x Charmbreaker devils
1x Geistflame
1x Harvest Pyre
1x Kessig Wolf
1x Rakish Heir (should have been the 2/2 devils guy that can make creatures attack you)
1x Reckless Waif
2x Torch Fiend
1x Scourge of Geier Reach
White:
1x Break the day
1x Elgaud Inguistor
1x Hollowhenge spirit
1x Increasing Devotion
1x Mausoleum Guard
1x Midnight Guard
2x Niblis of the Mist
1x Rebuke
1x Silverchase Fox
1x Smite the Monstrous
Yeah..
Huntmaster of the fells is ridiculous.

Re: Magic: The gathering Online
do you need snapcasters to run BW stoneforge. That is the only card I dont have for legacy because it is so new.

Re: Magic: The gathering Online
I don't have the proper amount of experience in legacy to be qualified to answer that, but B = black; blue is typically represented by U (I think we all understood what you meant but thought I would point it out to avoid potential confusion in the future).

Re: Magic: The gathering Online
I'm pretty sure snapcaster is crazy good in that deck.

Re: Magic: The gathering Online
Snap is extremely good in it for sure, I just don't have the experience to say that the deck would just fall apart without him. I suspect it would hing a lot on how often the deck wins via Snapcaster beatdown rather than Batterskull. If the pressure from Snapcaster Mage is significant to the deck's success, then obviously replacing him with something like Path to Exile won't work.

Re: Magic: The gathering Online
I don't need any experience with the deck to know it won't fall apart without snapcaster, but you're at a severe disadvantage playing 4 brainstorms vs someone with 8.

Whats the best/most populated free online way to play nowadays? I want to playtest but I can't be assed to get the cards on modo.

Re: Magic: The gathering Online
MWS or Cockatrice probably, though most of the people on there are tilting beyond belief so it's best to set up testing with a friend beforehand.

Re: Magic: The gathering Online
Last time I did it mtgotraders.com gave me the best offer. They are reliable but the check does come from Canada so it usually takes a little bit longer to clear.
