Just won the finals of an M14 draft with u/r by casting Molten Birth (stuck in experimentally as a 23rd card) six times in game three of the finals, calling tails every time and going six for six. When I won the sixth flip my opponent just conceded.

8-1 last 3 m14 draft, albeit the cookie queue.

How do you guys look up prices for selling? http://www.mtggoldfish.com seems way off, is there a better site? Its horrible slow to search in classifieds...

It's not perfect but you can get an idea pretty quickly. It's only rares.

There are also

http://goatbots.com/
and
http://mtgoclanteam.com/

but they only stock newer cards. They both usually have smaller spreads. Supernova is kind of a scame bot because of their 1.02 conversion rate from credits to tix. Still a useful reference though.

Anybody playing that GW Elves deck in Standard? That thing looks sweet, though susceptible to Bonfire.

supernova is a good place to get an idea but its usually very easy to find better prices on good cards

Just finished up a draft that I wish I was recording because it seems so unbelievable.

Pick 1: Chandra, the Pyromancer

Pick 2: Shivan Dragon

Pick 3: Shivan Dragon

Pick 4: Chandra's Outrage

....I won that draft.

In other news, anyone out there want to comment on Dragon Egg? I see it getting a ton of play, and it just strikes me as not good at all. If a conditional Furnace Whelp is the best thing you can think of to do with your mana, I can't see the game turning out well for you.

Even if you could make the argument for them as a sometimes 23rd card, I never see them going late. Someone is taking these guys highly, on purpose.

Did have the satisfaction of watching one of my opponents cast Dragon Hatchling on Turn 2 and Dragon Egg on Turn 3 (egg never got hatched, hatchling never did any damage) while I spent turns 5 and 6 casting back to back Shivans with the help of Elvish Mystic.

You can play with dragon babies if you want. I'll take mine full grown, thx.

While I'm not thrilled to play Egg, I think I will main it most of the time. It often is Moat. Obviously Furnace Whelp/Shivan is better, but beggars can't choose. You can also crack it yourself with Shock which is bit awkward but still very relevant.

Egg seems like a sometimes main sometimes SB card to me.

Side out vs blue, in vs green, and usually main deck it in the BR deck with sacrifice outlets.

While usually a downside, it's ability can actually be an upside if you're racing and it lets you chump a 3/3 that you wouldn't block with your 2/2 flyer the turn it comes into play.

I took out the act of treason, thoughts?

Gladecover scouts are bad, but somehow I didnt have drafted many creatures.

Its another enlarge hiding under the enlarge.

Also this sort og GR is boring, 5 minutes matches without many changes to really outplay opponents.

With this sort of deck you don't outplay them during the match, you outplay them during the card selection and deckbuilding when they fill their deck full of durdling useless and/or expensive junk and you stomp their heads in while they're goofing off with their random stuff.

Hi all. I used to play magic a while ago. Now I'm bored. Anyone trade PS/FTP for tix? What is the most economical way to use my tickets? Pauper?

Egg mainly goes in the sacrifice/AoT deck, I also don't mind playing it in the controlly Red decks, slight combo with Scourge of Valkas, but mainly holds the ground off till you get to those kinds of bombs.

reDZill4: PM Cueballmania to get into our Skype group. That will probably be the easiest way to pick up a couple of matches whenever you have time to play. There won't always be someone willing to play constructed. Lots of the players around here mostly play limited. But sometimes there will be (for instance, I will be playing a lot of standard since I am starting to play a new deck atm and want to get used to it).

Hey - I'm going to be in London this weekend, going to a sealed event on Friday evening at Darksphere and a booster draft x 2 at The Games Club on Saturday (and eat awesome burgers after both events).

If anyone's around and wants to join, let me know...

Cube usually happens the week before a new set is released online. Theros comes out online Oct 9, so it should be Oct 2 - Oct 8.
