Fire Drake is a lot better then it looks in this format. It will almost require the opponent to waste removal to deal with it. The format has about four creatures total that have flying in it and they are all in green and red. This makes it so even something like Scyrb Sprite can be a beating, since it is very likely that the opponents deck will not have a flying creature in it at all.

the problem with it is it's not great in a 3 color deck, and it's not worth playing 2 colors only when the third is so strong, so he's buns here basically. obv you play him in some 2 color builds but he's def a card that gets the cut if you have something better. scryb sprite is terrible. as are fire sprites. I can't remember the time someone played either of those cards against me and won. they're just too small for their clock to matter. in the format of like, mana accel and huge legends, those guys are rinky dink, even if they do get in nigh unconditionally. so yeah, obv play fire drake if you have to, but leave the scryb and fire sprites at home plz

Yeah i finally got a decent naya with thoctar and 2 soul's fires and lost in the 8-4 finals to bant with an elspeth, two enlisted wurms and a turn 4 wall of reverence in three straight games. loooovely.

I wonder if we will see a Bad Moon reprint in Zendikar considering how much they seem to be trying to push Mono Black.

maybe a new card that does something similar, but the last blue card is #78 and the first black card is #79 Bala Ged Thief

the new uncommon duals are boring, I guess there really isn't much left for them to do but zzzzz

I actually like the Uncommon duals. Good for the lower level players and still good enough for some Tournament use. They would be pretty good as an additional stop aggainst aggro decks.

lotus cobra seems ******ed good

1G for a 2/1 that when you landfall you get a lotus petal, some of the starts you can get with this and fetchlands are nuts

and its mythic

I think its clear from this point on, there will be mythic staples in every set and its going to suck balls

No proof that it exists.

Last edited by anononon; 09-17-2009 at 12:44 AM. Reason: it's also not a lotus petal obviously

idk, its nuts when it goes online but it might be tricky to get online without dredge tricks(retrace works if you have 2copies and might be the way to go about it)

the cobra is already selling for 80+ on ebay, around 15cards sell for 10+ right now, going to be a pretty pricey standard

at least crucible didn't make it into M10, crucible + fetch + lotus cobra = ******ed

looks like 4x sets of cobra are selling for 80+, not singles...

yeah thats what I meant, but not very clear switching between set and singles, there are a ton of $10cards and Lotus/UG fetch being the priciest of the bunch(though some like Nissa/Sorin are going to drop, I think Warren Instigator will drop too, he's not good enough for legacy and the best goblins rotated out of extended)

So like, the "final" is going to start 1 hour after the last shootout ends. There will always be a minimum of two shootouts per final, plus maybe more. So this will be 6 rounds + 20 minutes (say there are only two shootouts) + 1 hour + 6 rounds + draft + 3 rounds. So like a 17 hour tournament? Heh.

The sliver deck they have listed is pretty dated and bad.

The goblin storm deck is actually pretty good. You can get a t2 or t3 win 70% of the time or so.
