Read a review of Shadow Tactics which said that he had to resort to cheap, exploitative methods to get through some missions. Don't like the sound of that, is it an accurate assessment?

CrossCells is out, a new game by Matthew Brown of HexCells and SquareCells fame.

subbed to humble monthly for stellaris, never looked at it before. Supposedly there are more games coming? when do they get around to announcing the rest of the bundle?

edit: nevermind its got a countdown timer. what do they announce the rest of the bundle as soon as you get charged for the next month?

No idea about the timing between the bundles but I assume either you unsub early or you keep it.

Insta bought it, I love all his games ! And they are really cheap too.

The later ones I'm finding I have to screenshot and mark up the logic with Paint, I wish he'd add guess marks. Also the multiplication clues aren't very intuitive, basically any addition numbers after a multiplication number are multiplied by that number, where the start is from the vertical or horizontal line clue.

I have been waiting for a good deal on Remember Me for a while and Humble Store has the complete pack for $6.59, $0.32 of which goes towards charity. Now I have to see if I ever get around to playing it...

That does not sound accurate at all. I mean, it's a stealth game so it's all about setting unfair traps and sneaking up on people. Hard to even understand what he's talking about.

Dark souls 2 on next month humble early unlock.

I played this game on Normal and then on Hardcore, and I never had to resort to cheap methods.

It's a great, great game (well, if you're into the Commandos/Desperados genre). It's quite hard, though, and will typically require a zillion trials and errors.

I picked up Darkest Dungeon about a month ago and it's one of the best video game purchases I've made in a long time. Over 100 hours and DLC is coming soon. Costs $25 on steam but you can get it for <$10 with some simple googling. Single player turn-based dungeon crawl with a fairly steep learning curve if you play without spoilers. Music and narration are also top notch.

This game looks really cool and I'm considering getting it, but a bunch of reviewers are saying that it's not actually at all difficult and winning battles is mostly based on RNG. Are they just mad cuz bad?

No there was heavy RNG and grinding in the late game, but they added a mode with less grinding

The game is built around RNG, but I feel like there's certainly enough control from the player to make calculated decisions and it rarely feels entirely unfair. That said, it's definitely made me salty on numerous occasions lol. You'll have some bad beat moments but the game advertises "making the best out of bad situations" and is designed to be challenging, even with perfect knowledge. I think the beauty of the game is that you can really play it however you like. My first campaign, I went in blind with no research/help and struggled on the easiest difficulty. Second campaign, I used wiki/google frequently on normal difficulty and felt the difficulty was appropriate for my skill. My current campaign is on hardest, just relying on what I've learned and being a better player.

As YouR_DooM stated though, the game can get grindy near late game, but there's all sorts of built in options as well as mods you can download to customize the game the way you want to play it. There's definitely more RNG in the beginning of the game because your parties/items won't be as ideal but there's not really a true "game over" moment. However, sometimes it definitely feels like just resetting may be more worth your time.
