Best 5 hours ever.

I think I beat it in about 90 minutes my second time through.

Best game on Steam is Garry's Mod.

Wow I miss that game, you can make pretty much anything you can think of. I once made a submersible tank that could spring itself out of the water.

The problem with Garry's mod is that a system requirement is that you are a student - in order that you have the time to play it I mean.

Yep, I was doing A-Levels when I last played it, loads of time.

It can take a bit to make something epic, though you can save whatever you're building and work on it every now and then.

But it doesn't take long to make a lot of stuff, any fool can build some sort of cannon or boat or flying car (or even a combination of all three) in under half an hour.

One of the coolest things I have seen made in Gmod is this amazing giant colossus. And to think I was happy when I finally got my armed hover-train balanced... My favourite bit however, was an online mode where you had to build a bridge by welding boxes and getting to the next platform about 100m away - competing in 4 teams of 2. My best mate and I were massively addicted to that.

If anyone has Steam and HL2 without this game, then there is something seriously wrong.

Re: Let's talk about Steam and buy mountains of games

I think this is the right thread for this question:

On my desktop, often times when I boot up Steam, the application will start but it acts like it doesn't fully load. The icon in the tray doesn't show up and it just hangs or something. I then have to manually kill the process and once I do that, 100% of the time it starts up normally. Anybody else get this problem?

Just got Tropico 3 for £5, which was a bargain. Its a decent city building game with some politics in there too. My biggest complaint is that it's too easy, but a good way to waste a few hours here and there.

Steam for Mac is crap at the moment. Every day I go on I seem to get more updates so hopefully it'll improve over time. Free Portal, though, is a ridiculously good selling point
