Re: Let's talk about Steam and buy mountains of games

I strongly advise anyone to get altitude. Its a 2d multiplayer plane game. Its got a 3 hour free demo too
http://store.steampowered.com/app/41300/

If its anything to go by I've played 578 hours.
I've played WoW, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Oblivion, Eve Online, Dragon Age, etc but this has the most replayability and longest life of a gave I've ever seen. Even a ton of teamliquid starcraft people play it. I strongly advise giving it a go.

I bought both probably wont play either of them for years. To be fair I have gotten better at resisting the temptation of buying cheap games I'll never play. I swear.

Re: Let's talk about Steam and buy mountains of games

Deus Ex reminds me...

I remember years ago, I saw a Deux Ex "Limited Edition" at Best Buy for maybe $10 or something. The game wasn't 100% brand new at the time, but was still probably published within the previous 18 months or so. I had heard good things, so I figured $10 was a great price - it was just in a jewel case, no retail box or anything.

As it turned out, once I got to the end of the first stage, the game was over. It was literally a "limited" edition. Just a ****ing demo. Other than it saying "Limited Edition" on the case, there was no warning that it was not the full game.

I took it back to the store and tried to explain that to most people, "Limited Edition" means that it's some sort of special release of the game, perhaps with extra content not found in the original. They did not care. I was out $10.

Rockstar package this week. Looks awesome for 45€ ( you save around 118€ ).

lol, genius marketing. Sketchy and in the grey area for outright scam though.

reminds me of the "buy one, get one" sign in one of the sam & max games. I keep hoping a real store will try that.

This happened to me as well. I don't think I have ever been so angry at a video game.

I'm going on a road trip this weekend and I have an Athlon64 laptop that will not be able to run the nicer games, anybody got a rec for something fun with low hardware requirements?

I guess you should have bought a PC... you know, those computers that are more powerful, less expensive, and actually do the things you want.
