It may not be exactly what you want it to be yet, but it blows my mind this is already possible.

The reason why i post it here? Because it left me with the feeling that if Valve isn't already getting onboard with this kind of thinking about the future of steam(and programming as we speak), my extensive library may proof as useless as my VHS-collection in the not-too-far-away. I will cry myself to sleep for at least a month if proofs to be the case
There are a bunch of games where the extra lag would make it a poor experience. I've heard alot of negative reviews for anything action based.

yeah like i said, it lacks enough in some areas to stay handsomely put for the moment, but longterm (wich may just not be as long as people think) this seems truly 'the next step'. And you don't build this overnight i assume (what do i know), so i just wouldn't like to see valve turn into a dinosaur when that step arrives. Valve has never dissapointed so far though, they have good people working there!

As far as the ME1 story lacking, I would kind of compare it to World of Warcraft. As you progress through WoW, you don't necessarily get blown away by the story line, but by the vast world that was created. ME1 has the feel of a vast, fleshed-out gaming world, so the 'feel' of it is pretty awesome even if you don't think the story is that great. Not sure that makes sense.

I finally got with the program and bought World of Goo. I've never been much for puzzle games, but I recently decided to buy it as part of an indie pack.

The game is ****ing brilliant.

I think I just miss the days when an RPG took longer then 25 hours to finish.

btw, it's rated the 12th best game OF ALL TIME according to Game Rankings, so it's unlikely you'll be disappointed.
This is definitely a huge selling point for me, but I can look past it considering I paid $10 for the game. Open-world games can have their flaws too. I was disappointed with Oblivion in how the terrain felt so boringly computer-generated and how the dungeons/caves were like cookie-cutter copies of one another.

I look forward to the day when open-world games like GTA and Oblivion have realistic law enforcement AI that doesn't automatically know that you've broken the law or automatically know your position within some radius. That's one of the biggest annoyances to me.

Some solid deals today. Borderlands GOTY for $25 and Fallout: New Vegas for $29 are good. I'm looking forward to ARMA II ($10). I haven't played a good military sim in a while.
