trackmania is so fun online, didn't know you could get it for free on steam!

before the internet monkey island had a 1-900 # with live operators you could call for help with puzzles. We had to hit it a few times.

I thought Peggle was like Jewel match-up or something dumb, and had never looked into it despite the hype. I'm totally addicted though, it's a totally awesome mix of skill and luck.

Trackmania Nations has been free for what now, 4-5 years? Still, didn't know they went steam...

Trying to pick it up now, but either steam won't let me online or the servers are too busy to handle my request. = /

Think its the servers, I bought L4D2 but I decided to reinstall L4D1 and play it first since I haven't played it since around launch. Download is fluctuating between 50kb/s and 300kb/s and randomly stops for a couple mins. Usually I get a steady 1MB/s from steam.

Swapped to " -tcp" option and no longer having connection issues, finally started downloading. Wonder if there are any downsides to using tcp instead of udp for connection/downloading, or if it defaults to udp for downloads anyhow.

Left 4 Dead 1 is still played, in fact it's generally played by less ******ed players than Left 4 Dead 2 which has everyone in it. Personally I think the first one is a vastly superior game to the sequel, the level design is tight and thoughtful and the weapons and special infected all balance each other out nicely.

The sequel on the other hand has multiple sprawling messes of levels designed by the summer students or similar, ill thought out and random, with weapon packs which are clearly the result of a meeting where everyone sat around thinking "what can we add to this game?". I haven't played 2 for more than 10 hours but I played the first one to absolute death when it came out.

I think, typically, people whichever L4D people played first is the one they prefer.

I played L4D2 first and enjoy it more, mainly because there is more variety in weapons and Special Infected. I understand why some people like the original better, but the advantages I see in L4D2 outweigh any problems.

I just bought Knights of the Old Republic for 10 $ - made me realise how awesome Steam is. The game costs in Australia still around 50 dollars...

No, not since I bought it via Steam. I still have another RPG to finish (Gothic 3 btw, awesome game as well). I'll let you know once I tested it.

don't think so, those are EA games right? EA doesn't have any of their sports games on Steam
