If you like the total war series you should pick up Knights of honor while it's on sale.

Graphics arent as good, but the game play is more fun imo. Played the hell out of that game until I got good at it and realized the AI is pretty bad.

Re: Let's talk about Steam and buy mountains of games

Finally bought my first ever game on steam after having downloaded it about a year ago. Looks like I could've got ghostbusters even cheaper last week but was still only £5. Next up, orange box. Then codies racing pack prob. Oh god what have I done?

Edit: Actually next up is faster broadband. 2.5 hrs remaining on ghostbusters. 50Mb here we come!

this. Its why I only play 3 maps, and even then shoot for a 1:1 kdr.

And Ghostbusters is mildly dissappointing in its gameplay.

Don't judge by ghostbusters dl speed. For some reason it's been the slowest game to download for me. All the rest get about 5-10 times the speed it does (~100 mB/s vs 500-1K mB/s for, say, Civ4 or Orange Box).

Dunno if they only allocate a certain amount of bandwidth for certain downloads, but it is possible.

Also, only played part of the tutorial, but I really like the controls that I've learned so far. Venting as a form of reloading (keybound to R no less) is kinda fun.

Re: Let's talk about Steam and buy mountains of games

I only have my laptop (not desktop) so I can only play old video games on it.

Since I've been buying all these games on Steam though, I've had it open a lot.

I just played Opposing Force for the first time ever because I knew it'd play on my laptop. Not too bad, I suppose. Funny playing a game that old for the first time though.

Same boat only with Deus Ex, all the vocals are all grainy and the colors distorted, not sure if its a product of running a game that old on windows 7 or what.

Re: Let's talk about Steam and buy mountains of games

Downloaded Killing Floor, Audiosurf, and Complete Civ IV so far. Killing Floor is kind of dumb, but if I can find a good multiplayer game, it might be fun enough. Audiosurf has promise as far as quick time wasters go, and Civ IV, well, it's Civ IV - I already had the base game.

Serious Sam pack is great. Really one of the best anti-tilter!

Yeah. I blind-bought the Introversion pack and Uplink has been worth the $5 alone. There is a great guide on a site called "modlink" that helps explain the game a bit better then the tutorial and in-game help.
