Like Sun said, if you're doing it for cash then dragon farming is much quicker anyway. Each dragon part sells for 300.

Killed some Lynels today for armor upgrades. It's still not pretty but at this point no matter how bad my combat skills are I can't really die unless I actively try to do something stupid.

I have 16 shrines left to find and one divine beast (Goron). I know where three of the shrines are (have for a while, actually, just never got around to them yet). Korok seeds continue to annoy me in that there are so many of them, but it seems like they are either ridiculously easy to find or at the very top of some place remote and I'm kind of getting tired of climbing every damn rock just to see if there's a seed up there. Like I'm really enjoying this game but it feels like I'd literally have to run Link over every pixel of the map to find them all and I just ain't got the patience for that nonsense. Not even going to pretend to 100% this run (although I know the 100% as tracked by the game is map completion, not stuff like side quests or mini games, which is kind of an odd definition of 100% IMO). Might come back to this game fairly quickly after I finish this run and try a different strategy, like thoroughly going over every inch of a new map area before advancing to another area or continuing the game plot. At any rate I'm deliberately dragging my feet on the main stuff as I intend to finish everything I plan to do in this run (all the shrines at least, and probably max upgrade every set of armor other than amiibo drops, because goddamn I do not have that many star fragments) before going to Gannon, although I know you can keep playing even after you've beaten him.

Spent today mostly gathering supplies in the form of monster parts.

Also question that I'm sure someone here can answer:

Spoiler:
At one point while running around for a specific sidequest, I ran across an NPC who mentioned a monster in a big run down castle or courtyard. I took a quick peek and it was a Lynel. At the time I was more interested in the side quest, plus still daunted at trying to take those beasts down, so I just kept going. Now that I'm actively farming for Lynel parts, I tried to find this specific one today but I can't remember what part of the map I was even on. If this sounds familiar at all, where in the hell is this so I can go back there? I tried like three spots today looking for this specific Lynel but no dice.

RJ,

Sounds like we are at similar spots in the game. I've cleared 103 shrines and have found another 3. Finally found Hestu and traded in a lot of Korok seeds. Also found the last memory today. Still have the Rito beast to go and then I will be ready to take Ganon.

I do have one memory left to get. I know where it is - it's probably the hardest of the memories to get to, and the last time I was over in that area, it was raining so I couldn't climb so I said **** it, later.

I ordered the official game guide - I have two other Zelda books, and this one looked good. I've never actually had an official guide before. Well next time I play I'm going to be well prepared boy howdy. It includes a Korok seed map so even if I never get all 900, I can at least get enough to do all inventory upgrades. This far in (and my general antipathy towards this collectable) I just don't see myself going around and getting another 300 plus of the little bastards when I'm this close to the end game.

And by this close I mean at least 20 more hours since I still need to farm parts for armor upgrades.

I wish keese wings were like chuchu jelly in that I could just use an elemental arrow to change the base wing to another type. I never find enough ice or electric keese wings.

Beat the game last week. Now just finishing up side quests.

Spoiler:
I just found Tarry Town. There still seems to be a good part of the map I haven't gone through.

112 shrines finished.

Think I'll actually do the final divine beast next time.

I may have been hallucinating when I said I'd do all armor upgrades this run, I still don't even have the ancient armor headgear and it seems unlikely I'd ever have enough Guardian parts without a massive slog I should have started eons ago. Maybe next time.

It's bad enough harvesting Lynels when my blood moon glitched and didn't respawn them. So I either have to wait for another blood moon or go find different ones, and just **** that. I know there are more but the idea of running around the map for who knows how long looking for one specific creature that a) I know plenty of spots for already and b) might not be in the area I'm wandering just seems exhausting at this stage.

I'll know next run to mark all locations like Hinox and Lynels on my map so I can find them more easily, but at this point I'd pretty much have to retrace the entire game.

there's a place that has two lynels nearby

you can go back in the test of strength shrines to fight guardians again if you need more parts

Game is great, but I kind of dread doing it all over again once I get a Switch. Will have to make that call once the dlc drops.

There's more than one place with two Lynels in fairly close proximity.

One of those locations is the one I was mining, that's why the blood moon glitching irritated me. I came out of a shrine at exactly midnight and the pink ash effect was there but I never got the cut scene. Some stuff didn't respawn, presumably for that reason. I shut the system down rather than sleep when I quit today, hopefully the next blood moon will set everything back to normal.

Also, why do my stores never restock with arrows? Like, never. I swear the last time I bought arrows in Kakriko must be well over a game month at this point. I have enough but I like to keep really well stocked on them.

And I don't dread the idea of replaying this game at all, in fact I'm already making notes of things I want to do differently my next run. But the idea of completely retreading everything in THIS run just to, IDK, find more korok seeds makes me cringe.

My biggest regret is not using map markers earlier in the game

What part specifically? I had trouble
Spoiler:
finding one of the daughters. But I can imagine someone getting stumped at the actual spot.

Also it's not the hardest puzzle but hardly easy either, so I wouldn't feel that badly. I looked one thing up after trying for like an hour that was so ****ing easy I was pretty ashamed of not figuring it out.

I can't really think of a hint that wouldn't give away a lot of info. But you don't need to move very far from that spot to find everything you need to solve it.

Map 100% or all side quests etc?

The current rules for a 100% run are:

-All heart and stamina upgrades (and thus all 120 shrines)

-All Quests (complete counters for main quests [15/15], shrine quests [42/42] and side quests [76/76])

-Complete map percentage counter (all koroks, towers, discovered places etc.)

-All Key Items (all dungeon rewards, Kilton medals, bridles, saddles, Hestu's Gift, Confidential Envelope, Shiekah Slate+, Paraglider)

-Master Sword (this is the only weapon which can't be gotten rid of)

-Fully upgraded Champion's Tunic, Zora Armor Set, Wild Armor Set, Thunder Helm (these are the only clothing items you can't get rid of. Note full upgrades requires all 4 great fairies)

-All fully upgraded Runes

-Full compendium (this gives you a key item)
.
