Was looking at some info with regard to the maps and game time. Since the garden change (with the plant), Garden games are 24 and a half mins on average; this is far and away an outlier relative to the rest of the maps. The shortest games (this is hero league btw) towers are 19.5.

If you break it down, the quick maps are towers/sky temple/battlefield of eternity. Towers used to be a late game map but ever since the change to 3 altars early the game typically ends on the 2nd wave of 3 (which is the 5th occurrence of objectives).

The mid game maps are basically Cursed/Blackheart/Infernal/Tomb/Dshire mid. On average they are a minute to two more than the early game maps, I suppose.

Garden is just a super outlier.

Reason I was thinking about all this is various heroes scale much better or worse in early to late game. Like, across all heroes/leagues of play for the past month, in very short games - total stomps - Xul, Slyvanas, Zag, Medic, and ~Tracer have a 60%+ winrates. They are the best early game heroes and it makes sense. Likewise, Abathur (21.7% in games 14 mins or less lol), Nova, Murky, Zeratul... Not early game heroes.

If you flip the script, to super long games (25mins+) the heroes that shine are Nazeebo (stacking), Murky (short rez makes him maybe best end game hero in game!), and Aba. Lost Vikings pops up here but IMO it's because they are amazing on Garden, which is a late game map, so the data is a bit messed up there. At the other end, Slyvanas (when you have nothing left to push and are just TF, she's weaker than other heroes at the end of the game), Dehaka, Zag all show up.

Just throwing this out there. I certainly will adjust my drafting strategy because of this.

Probably why Azmo's best map by a few percent is garden. More time for stacking.

im about 10 mins in, the other team doesnt seem that bad. the jaina has been awful outside of landing a FIVE MAN RING and tass has been wandering all over the place, but their thrall and tyrande seemed reasonable

not sure their rank or anything but they didnt play that bad, they just were pretty awful in team fights. gobo was messing them up bigtime with leap.

good decision making for us though, there were a few good retreats and merc calls as well as shoving the keep that i really liked

they also had a bad draft. if akson drafted for the team really well done
