Leoric has been popular in competitive play, so take that for what it's worth. If you like his playstyle, Zeratul might be worth looking into. Even if he gets a big nerf, he'd still be playable in solo queue (like Nova) just due to the majority of players not being able to handle stealth.

I agree with Chen, but Azmodan is considered high tier. The main problem is he requires a team that understands his stacking mechanic. Otherwise you just get teammates that wipe waves before you can Q, or AoE heroes that won't help you whittle down minions. In solo queue, though, he's not great.

Thanks for the feedback. Decided to take Leoric. Have not played him yet though as I am leveling Johanna to 9 for my 750 gold.

I know Azmodan has good comps, but only on certain maps if your team feeds you.

If he is asking which hero to buy I don't think he is running serious teams.

Definitely not running serious teams so Azmodan is not for me at the moment. Had a couple of friends playing for a while but these days it is mostly solo queue for me.

Just tried out Thrall in quick match and enjoyed him quite a bit, is he decent in ranked?

Thrall's outclassed by other melee assassins which do the same job but better. Like the other low tier characters, there's some skill level where you can play him and do ok, but you'd quickly hit a ceiling as you climb and start to face better opponents.

Leoric is a great tank options if you want some wave clear, he's great at peeling if you're running a backline you want to protect (Zagara, KT, Nazeebo). Entomb is good for multiple mid game ganks per game. If you spec him correctly you will have a 20 second death timer late game which is where he really shines.

All that said, he is quite weak if you fall behind in my opinion because a lot of his tankiness comes from his W drain.

Also we have a group of 4 who plays somewhat regularly, we take it semi-seriously (I'm rank 6 currently), have a play caller, build comps, etc. but we have jobs/women etc. so no ones going to flip out if you feed a little (except for questioning your manhood). I'd be interested but I play EU. Anyone on EU here? I play mainly quick matches and hero league but know the basics well enough I think.

I don't want a team because I have a job and family but would be nice to have couple of extra guys on my friend list to play with.

I would love to build up a better friends list again but I am on the AU servers and playing with Americans gives either me or the Americans horrible ping.

New patch is looking really sweet, been playing on PTR all weekend:
-Monk is an awesome support, unique style and good healing numbers. Don't try and build him even half DPS IMO, it seems to be ****.
-KT changes seem to have worked out well, he has a lot of damage still and the W build could be viable. His increased early game Q damage gives him real presence. The replacement ignite is garbage though, really slow 2nd proc. Maybe useful for sieging.
-Thank god for Leoric nerfs, he's still going to be very strong and may stay tier 1 (although definitely bottom).
-I wasn't around for the first Kerrigan meta but it seems like she's good again.
-No one is playing Jaina for some reason, so I have no idea how significant the water elemental nerf is. Overall, the meta feels less mage/AOE focused.
-No more pre-Cleansing, big positive
-New map is pretty fun albeit very early game oriented, quite unlikely to see lvl 20 hit. The thing ganks really hard, use champs that can follow up CC for easy value.

PTR is also quite a skill challenge right now, I was duo queue'ing and ran into Tempostorm (the real one).

Gonna miss Sylvanas from the free rotation. Didn't think she could gank as hard as Valla, which is true, but she surprised me a bit. Started to play off this build, but trying diff things in the 13 slot, and mostly going B4B in the 16 slot. Sorry, splintershot 45 damage chain is not worth a trait. I can see pros/cons for any 16 pick, but I go B4b since it has both survivability and gank. I think Sylv while weaker than Valla for carry overall, she is actually a little stronger when snowballed. From behind and even, she is just not quite as good as Valla. JMO

Played a couple games of KT last night, my first with him and he does not match my playstyle. His damage options seem limited since verdant spheres feel weak. While bomb and meteor strike are both damaging they are too unreliable. Missing leads to waiting for 50% of your dps to cooldown. The above average damage just doesn't make up for the risk of missing and lack of utility to redeem him.

I really like Sylv on haunted mines, dragon shire and battlefield of eternity. Silencing the towers increases the duration of the big guys by a lot.

Generally I think Sylv should be going Evasive Fire 13, Cold Embrace 16. I think Sylv can carry harder than Valla (at least in the previous meta, not sure anymore Valla might be t1) just because of her ability to wave clear which is critical in soloq ueue.

I'm really interested to see how KT plays out in the new meta, his Q damage buff should pump up his early game a LOT.

I have seen Sgt Hammer seige in the fogged area next to the immortals and get off a ton of shots.

The area around the immortals makes it pretty easy to defend a hammer blasting away at the immortal and any hero trying to defend. Then when the immortal starts attacking have hammer push the other lane. This should get you a big enough lead to win as comebacks are pretty hard on the new maps to begin with.

New "Arena" mode announced. I didn't watch the announcement so not sure how in detail they went about the game mode. I am assuming it is a similar idea to Smite where it's a small space with high action and the game scored through TDM mechanics and pushing some sort of objective back and forth.

Nothing too exciting but should break up the monotony of a single game play style at least.
