The new HOTS (wut?), 'Blizzard DOTA,' has been officially announced 3 weeks ago. Beta signups started yesterday.

Known info:
No gold, only experience (no equipment?)
Mix of WoW, SC, other blizzard IP heroes
Different maps have different objectives that 'encourage team play and coordination'
Start level 1 with all 3 hero abilities and 1 passive already trained
Level your hero up with different progression paths, unlocking different upgrades for the abilties
No word if it is F2P or not (probably yes for a lot of reasons?)

Known Heroes: Kerrigan, Tassadar, Raynor, Valla (Demon Hunter, Diablo), Naziba (Witch Doctor, Diablo), Diablo (the Lord of Terror himself), Illidan (WCIII Night-Elf Demon Hunter), Gazlowe (Gadgetzan Goblin), Malfurion (Archdruid), Arthas (Death knight), Stitches (WC3 Abomination), Tyrael (archangel knight from Diablo), Elite Tauren Cheiftain, Sonya (Warrior from Diablo), Nova (Sniper of SC2 fame), Falstad (flying gryphon dwarf), Uther (Spirit knight from WC3), Malfurion (Druid brother of Illidan), Abathur (Zerg Gene Engineer)

Well I'm fine with it because I enjoy the games. Dangerous road to go down unless the game you're working on is completely original (which there's pretty much no way it can be) IMO.

Seems late to the party in a pretty crowded genre. Best case is battling DOTA2 for second place?

Wow those graphics and UI seem WC3-ish. Heroes seem almost indistinguishable.

Gameplay seems interesting though, at least they aren't to just copy LoL/dota.

idk it seemed u infered blizzard just copied concepts (which btw I dont see whats wrong with copying) but its funny the genre was born from a mod for a game they did create.

anyway Im curious about this but dont think Ill play,there are already enough moba out there,maybe this one is special but atm not convinced.

I really dont know how blizz missed the moba genre and didnt buy out dota itself.

Is it true there will be no items or last hitting in this game ?

the diversity between maps seem pretty fun so far from the streams ive watched.

Also many choices to customize which "talents" you get every game.

Pretty much got two choices many times on what skill or passive to get.

the mechanics are pretty fun.

obviously its more casual than most MOBAs, but more importantly it looks pretty fun.

Looks like another wave went out. I got an invite today, prob give it a try when I get home from work.
